Unfortunately isn't funny. He yells all the time. That's not funny. It's stolen. He isn't Sam Kinnison. Although he thinks he is. He's a poser, and it has caught up with him. No matter how many times he claims to be a very funny comedian, he just isn't, not even close. Sure there will be some weirdos who like him no matter what because of the right wing conspiracy's he says non stop on his podcast, but people are on to him. He's like a Jenner now, he's so rich that people pretend to like him. It's embarrassing. He sucks, ever see a very short man hump a bar stool?? Wow!! Hilarious!! While he's screaming and grunting?
This special had me laughing out loud. Great stuff, Joe. Very impressed.
The last Rogan special having been generally regarded as mediocre at best, I was curious to go back to something apparently held in higher regard. I have to say, even though this one was evidently more popular at the time, the same basic problems are present here too. He is too invested in his opinions as interesting and provocative (as opposed to genuinely amusing), and doesn't seem to have the capacity to distinguish the humorous from the merely transgressive (nor does his audience, to be fair). There is a near constant sense of having to try very hard to offer a unique point of view on things., which just isn't much fun. The shouting and face-pulling are there as if to signal 'this is comedy'; I suspect Rogan is really more disposed to engage in mildly conservative cultural punditry than make people laugh, and this would become overly apparent if he dropped the obviously cumbersome delivery. Not good, folks.
I didn't know who Joe Rogan was prior to finding "Triggered" on Netflix by browsing the stand-up comedy collection.
I decided to give it a chance based on the short synopsis that was given. But it turned out that Joe Rogan's particular style of comedy and his jokes were not really suitable with what I liked, and I wasn't particularly entertained or impressed with what I saw here.
Joe Rogan did have some good jokes here and there, but they were just far in between for my liking.
I enjoyed the part with the sleeping impressions, when he was lurched on the chair, and that was my favorite part of the entire show.
I can't claim to have been spurred on to seek out more of his shows of he has any though.

What Joe Rogan did here was very, very brave.
Joe Rogan opens every joke with laying out a verbal minefield for himself. Every time he starts a new joke I find myself saying "uh-oh" out loud, and by the end of every joke he has successfully managed to maneuver out of the minefield with humor and a valid point.
I do myself strongly agree with him on some points and others not so much, but when i see past his showmanship i can see that there is a strong case behind his opinions.
This made me laugh very much, but i'm not giving it a 10/10 purely because of the jokes. This routine is admirable because he dared discuss some of the most touchy subjects, in the most uncompromising way, in front of a large audience. 10/10 for bravery.
