Funny, Relatable, Too Much Cursing Though

First of all Pat & Crew are funny. They do a good mix of general jokes & black jokes imo so everyone can enjoy. Secondly, Tami Roman surprisingly does a pretty good job too. (I was so ready to roll my eyes but she showed me!)

I like that the TV shows these days can cuss but it's a lot sometimes. This is definitely a show I would want to watch with the kids but it's too much for them with the profanity.

Either way this show is hilarious and you will laugh out loud multiple times. Will be watching the second season!

    Giving my opinion.

Season 3 episode 1Guess who's coming too dinner? My opinion Ms Pat was totally wrong for aborting their baby without talking with her husband b4 making that crucial decision. She couldn't have gotten pregnant without her husband. Besides they're married. Then she just let her sister take his luggage and the kids take his car, pop etc etc, without talking with her husband beforehand. She has no regards for her marriage and the partnership marriage represents. Shes(Ms. Pat) is too aggressive no respect for herself & family. Then she stated this my and I quote my pushy. That was totally uncalled for. I'm a black woman as well that faced/es struggles. But her language and disrespect too her husband is uncalled for. This show is portraying black women/ ppl in a negative way. We already have enough of this in everyday life. I understand she's portraying her life in real time but it's a place and time for everything. But on tv is not it. They don't allow certain too be said on tv without censorship. This show ever how it is allowed has no censorship once so ever. She's too aggressive as a black woman and or a woman period. This is part of the reason it makes it hard for a woman too get a man. I'm going too stop watching this show based on my comment on her aggressiveness and no regards too her husband feelings. She's married on this show but yet acts as if she's single. She(Ms Pat) should keep this language in her stand up comedy. At least ppl know what too expect. That's where it belongs and not on tv. Just my personal opinion.

If you don't like it it's because you don't get it!

This show is the best show I have watched in a lonnggg time. The raw comedy the acting the family dynamic all gets a 10 out of 10. I hope this show stays just as raw and cut because it is truly funny and people like myself can relate so much. I could have went without the gay ish but even how they spun it was good. Keep doing you Ms. Pat there is so many people that love you. If you didn't like it thats because you don't get it! Go watch something else.

All in how you look at it

Okay so after reading reviews of this show I was a little weary to say the least but I must say regardless of skin color everyone will find something for them in this show I am a 32 year old white man and I find this show absolutely hilarious I little much on the ways of profanity but this is Emmy nominated for a reason but also this has a late time slot for a reason as well so its funny really really funny and I'd like to thank miss pat for the laughs and memories in just one season again please know yourself going into this show before tuning in and due to sex humor and swearing this is a grown folks show but a plus.

    Can't help but love it

There's just something about Ms. Pat. She's raunchy AF and has no filter, and is not afraid to say what she feels like saying. Having seen a couple of her stand up specials over the last few years, I was curious to see how her comedy would translate into sitcom format and I was pleasantly surprised.

The chemistry between Ms. Pat and her husband onscreen is excellent. There's a lot of authenticity in the problems and issues they explore together and it's refreshing to see people actually argue like real married people encountering real problems.

In fact, that's kind of this show in a nutshell. There's a lot of genuine moments in the show where the family is trying to deal with exceptionally real issues, and it's done in a way you wouldn't normally see in a sitcom. Breaking long-embedded cycles of abuse between parent and child, learning to love yourself in spite of a barrage of daily disparagement, and dealing with estranged parents are a few of the many topics the show deals with on a regular basis--and in a very abrasive and inyourface manner. Ms. Pat holds no punches.

One of the things that's so good about this show is character growth. Every character experiences some form of growth over the course of the show's four seasons, and it really is a compelling force behind the show's bingeworthy quality.

Also, as a white guy, I was amazed at how relateable I found Ms. Pat, especially her relationship with her sister Denise. The episodes where her husband jokes about her hair and triggers childhood trauma over extreme feelings of inadequacy and ugliness were beautifully done and surprisingly relateable for most people, regardless of race or gender. And the episode where she's forced to confront a vicious cycle of abuse while being haunted by the spectre of her mother was one of the best episodes of TV I've watched--I swear you could hear that slap she landed on Janelle's face 3 continents over.

Lastly, the season 4 finale was an emotional roller coaster. The actor playing Brandon finally got to break his comic-relief mold as the failing adult manbaby living in his moms basement after being forced to confront with the reality of imminent death of his estranged biological father, and the culmination of that episode with his explosive reaction to hearing some news was so wonderfully human that you can't help but be moved by him and his obvious pain. It reminded me heavily of Will Smith's famous improvised "Why don't he love me man?" scene from Fresh Prince after his Dad walks out on him when meeting him after several years of being estranged.

Can't wait for Season 5, probably my favorite show on BET+ besides Comic View and Ms Pat Settles It.
