First half is entertaining with comedy and romance. Thambi Ramaiyah and Karunakaran comedy performance was entertaining enough to make the audience laugh. Romance portions was decent but reminded many old movies especially romance background music. Dhanush's performance was good as usual as a pantry boy with natural face expressions and dialogues. Keerthi Suresh's performance was good enough but felt over acting is some portions of movie. Songs were good but two songs' placement was quite awkward. Stunt could have been better and CGI is decent but can be better too. Movie's editing is nice. Those cuts are pretty impressive. Second half of the movie is much more thrilling and pulse raising. Happy ending of the movie is one of the biggest plus points of the movie. In overall Thodari is a neat entertainer in a fast moving train (quite different from others). The movie is much more better than the hopeless promotions and trailer.
The movie was worst. Nobody acted good in the movie. Nothing was good in the movie except Thambi Ramaiyya comedy scenes and Badava Gopi's comedy scenes in the movie. Songs and BGM were also worst in the movie. There is no logic in the movie.
You've got almost 3 hours of train footage, from the pantry, passenger wagons to the conductor room.
The film starts out brilliantly, but the second half is badly held together by its poor plot and Saroja's weak character - shame.
But overall, the film has many humorous scenes and characters that will keep you entertained and hooked.
This film is definitely a treat for all the train lovers out there!

This is one of the Worst Movies by Dhanush.
This movie has a flavor of Unstoppable.
Acting and characterization is so poor, especially the actress is as dumb as a duck.
Story was dragging, you will feel bored at the very first movement since there is nothing Interesting twists or turns.

I read a title of a review online for this movie which quoted "'Thodari': What happens when a Hollywood film falls into a bowl of Aachi masala" (so apt)
An already well made movie in Hollywood "Unstoppable" was taken as inspiration then these guys decided to embarrass that movie and the fellow country men. And in the year 2016, the graphics cannot get any worse, just like some cartoon.
I wonder why Dhanush accepts such movie to even considering acting for. These kinds of movie making only embarrasses Indians outside the country on how hopeless the movie making can get in our country.
