The acting wasn't bad for the most part. The story and dialogue had a few interesting moments. I'll leave out how this movie develops and then turns out, to avoid spoilers, but I thought the last 40 minutes or so just plain sucked. Looked like the writers just phoned in the ending. The actors deserved a better script.
What this film lacks in aesthetic it makes up for with weak acting. It really is amateur hour.
But if you ever wanted to see a fresh from Burning Mam Swamp Thing pull a Jason on the cast of Ginger Snaps Back, this is your film.
Five girlfriends go camping in a national park to celebrate one's birthday. Unfortunately for them, there's a huge weed crop that someone is desperate to keep trespassers away from, and much bloodshed ensues.
I avoided this one for a long time because the title made me fear it was another stoner comedy masquerading as a horror homage but I'm happy to admit I was wrong. The biggest problem I had with 4/20 Massacre is that there are loooonnnng stretches of characters talking and then walking and then sitting and talking but things pick up by the third act. I was happy to see that the gore was plentiful and the kills were on camera; some of them were really mean-spirited which is always a plus. Is it great? No. But it's much better than many of the throwback slashers I've seen in recent years and I don't regret devoting 85 minutes to it.

No pun intended and I really was not thinking about going that route and joke. But it really is there and ripe for the taking. Which kind of is another pun/wordplay considering what the movie is about. No power to drugs ... or those who want to punish you for taking them? I don't think there is really a message in here.
Quite amateurish things at play here. You'll either be down for that or you won't. Just be aware what the movie is trying to achieve. Acting might also be AWOL - but you did not expect too much from it I would hope ...

I reeeeaaally hated the sound track, i normally don't pay THAT much attention to the music in a movie unless its really nice music but in this case the music was just awful in the movie to a point it was so bad it ruined the movie. The way they portrayed stoners was absolutely stupid, stereotypical and sooo wrong in so many ways but i guess thats the case with a lot of 'weed-themed' movies (i'm not a stoner myself but i can imagine it's offensive to people who enjoy weed)
On the other hand it was a classic slasher with not to much story and some cool kills, nothing special but still pretty okay and entertaining
Its still worth watching if u have seen everything already and wanna watch an average slasher you havent seen yet but its just really a shame they kinda ruined an okay movie with a horrible soundtrack.
