It doesnt really follow a story it feels like multiple stories slammed into one. The acting is okay but the story really lacks that shine
After reading Sarah Beth Durst books for the last 10 years I've always wanted them to be turned into a movie...but this was not what I expected :( replacing unicorns with falcons first off is one of the best parts of the book! Didn't follow the book even a little bit. Which I'm used to from adaptations but this was a major disappointment. The entire family was unicorns in the book and just simple slayers in the movie. Ugh
Please someone other than lifetime make a movie based on any Sarah Beth Durst book! The queen of blood would beat out Harry Potter and the hunger games if they follow the stories!

Maybe I should have read the synopsis for the 2017 movie "Drink Slay Love" before sitting down to watching it, and I could have saved myself from the suffering of sitting through a movie aimed at a teenage girl audience. But I was lured in by the movie being labeled as a comedy / fantasy / romance. So I must admit that I was expecting quite something else than what "Drink Slay Love" actually turned out to be.
Now, while I was not in the target audience, then of course the movie offered very little entertainment value or enjoyable viewing for me, but I must say that the movie is not actually a bad movie. I just happened not to enjoy it because it fell short of my liking and interest. But for a teenage girl viewer, then I am sure that "Drink Slay Love" would offer an abundance of entertainment, especially if having enjoyed stuff like "Twilight".
The storyline is pretty straight forward and easy to follow, but it was lost on me because of the target audience thing being a swing and a miss.
The effects in the movie were adequate. Keep in mind, though, that this is a Lifetime movie, so you will not be in for a grand display of bedazzling special effects that rival high end Hollywood movies.
It should be said that the acting in the movie was actually fair enough. But again, the characters were aimed at a teenage audience, so there was just little for me to relate to here.
My rating of "Drink Slay Love", despite it falling short of my personal liking and movie preference, lands on a four out of ten stars.

This was a fun movie and I felt it was true to the book. No complaints overall. Teenage vampire romance movie based on a young adult book. Recommend!
Cierra Ramirez sucks and that keeps this flick from sucking. Who wouldn't want to share some ice cream with a gorgeous vampire that is impervious to daylight? Cierra is a welcomed fresh face to an old cliched genre. Her acting carries this film. She is her own event. A perfect 10. She slays. The rest of the crew bites though, ergo the subtraction of 2 stars. I normally would rate a film with so many flaws lower, but I guess the flawless Cierra glamored me. Strange how she kind of reminds me of Jodi Arias, only safer and sweeter. She's well on her way to stratospheric heights in Hollyweird. If she's in it, I'm a-watching!
