"Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi" is (according to me) an average Doraemon movie. It has a weak plot which makes very less sense. The slow pacing and lack of a good strong villain makes the movie boring. It lacks a lot in both world-building and character-development. The themes of the movie weren't explored properly. The pacing was almost the same degree of slow throughout.

The only thing I liked about the movie was the small but important imposter Doraemon Arc which showed the depth of the friendship between Nobita and Doraemon.

Excellent film, even for adults

I really enjoyed this movie. It has a very detailed and interesting story, in a setting that you don't often see in kids movies, or really any movie. It has a strong sense of adventure, so I highly recommend this film for fans of adventure stories. Animation and voice acting is excellent (I watched it with Japanese audio and English subs). Doraemon himself is a very interesting character which really appeals to the inner-kid in all of us. Highly recommended checking out this movie if you have the chance (riding a Japanese airline might be your best bet if you aren't living in Japan, that's how I saw it).
