‘Ted Lasso’ Opening Its Season 3 Finale With This Scene Might Be the Show’s Most Unhinged Moment Yet
Ted Lasso concluded its Season 3 in May 2023, leaving the audience wondering about the most talked-about moment of the series. The 12th episode, the series finale, “So Long, Farewell,” though bamboozled right from the start, gave the viewers an emotional and moving end to the show. Yet, one moment had everyone talking, prompting that ‘wait, what!’ reaction all over.
The “gas leak opening scene” was a truly unhinged moment, marking a hilarious kickstart to the episode. Though chaotic and unexpected, it was so perfectly depicted that it defied expectations, proving why Ted Lasso keeps us on our toes. The director of the episode in an interview with Cinema Blend, revealed the impact the scene has on the overall run.

It’s real, folks—Ted Lasso is officially renewed for Season 4. What seemed like an impossible dream actually turned into reality, and fans’ persistence was one of the many reasons Apple TV+ ordered another installment.
Brett Goldstein, who played Roy Kent, will return as executive producer and co-writer of the series, although the network did not specify his possible reprisal of the role. As one of the fan-favorite characters, it would be a shame not to see him again in the show.
More Ted Lasso episodes aren’t that bad, according to Brett Goldstein
It is too early to say what the fourth season of Ted Lasso will be about, as Brett Goldstein said, it isn’t real yet, meaning they have not started filming. Despite so, it is still great news for fans who craved more episodes since the show wrapped up in 2023. We know—it’s been a long time,...

Widely known for portraying the role of Roy Kent in Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, Brett Goldstein was initially hired as a writer for the series by TV producer Bill Lawrence. While writing the series, Goldstein felt so attached to the character of Roy Kent that he sent an email with a self-taped audition to the makers. Not only did Goldstein score the role, but he eventually won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Apart from Ted Lasso, Brett Goldstein has contributed to AMC’s Soulmates alongside writer Will Bridges. He is also the co-creator of another Apple TV+ show, Shrinking, which is regarded as one of the most successful shows on the streaming channel. Brett Goldstein recently shared that he was as surprised as the audience when he heard about Ted Lasso’s return.

What do you get when you mix football, lessons of kindness, and a whole lotta humour? Ted Lasso, of course! A show that no one expected much from but became a cultural phenomenon right after its debut, as each episode delivered wisdom and quirky one-liners.
But behind every meme and locker room hug, there were a few head-scratching moments in season 3. But Jason Sudeikis, the co-creator of the show who stars in and as Ted Lasso, has stood his ground about the creative choices. But no matter what he says, we’ll always feel a bit sour about a few things in the season, especially Nate’s redemption arc.

Ted Lasso is easily one of Apple TV+'s best original series, and that's pretty much undeniable at this point. Three seasons down and another installment in the works? Yeah, it’s safe to say the show still has plenty of momentum. With its unique blend of humor, lovable characters, and the heartwarming journey of its titular coach, the show has cemented itself as a fan favorite. Now, with Warner Bros. providing a promising update on the show’s future beyond season 4, it’s clear that Ted Lasso isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and we couldn't be more excited!
In a new interview with Deadline, chairwoman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television, Channing Dungey, confirms that there is definitely a possibility for the series to continue past its upcoming fourth season, suggesting the potential for more storylines. However, she added that neither she nor the rest of the Warner Bros.

Lana Del Rey has some bad news, but she eased her fans into it with the release of “Henry, Come On,” a sweet country ballad that serves as the lead single from her 10th studio album. The catch is that the album, originally titled The Right Person Will Stay and scheduled for release on May 21, will no longer arrive on that date or under that title. But veteran Del Rey fans should have known better than to get their hopes up.

What if Ted Lasso were a completely different character? We would have never known the optimistic football coach, or at least not in the form we do today, if it weren’t for Donald Trump, because Jason Sudeikis had envisioned a far dissimilar version of Ted.
After a real-world politics spectacle, Sudeikis changed his mind and reevaluated the kind of character he wanted to bring to the world. This led to the radical decision of Ted being a beacon of hope and kindness.

Shrinking has booked more sessions at Apple.
The therapy comedy starring Jason Segel has been renewed for a third season at the streamer. The news comes on the heels of Tuesday’s season two launch.
Created by Segel with Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein — the latter, who joined the cast in a key guest role for the second season — the cast also includes Harrison Ford in one of his first television roles.
The renewal news was announced Thursday at New York Comic Con when Segel and Goldstein — along with castmembers Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley — took the Main Stage for a discussion around season two, which is now streaming its first two episodes.
“I’m so lucky to work on Shrinking with actors, writers and a crew so talented that they all elevate the material,” said co-creator and executive producer Lawrence in a statement.

Four years ago, as a global pandemic brought society both indoors and desperate for any means of suitable distraction, television veteran Bill Lawrence, having once breathed life into cultural touchstones “Spin City” and “Scrubs,” made the leap to the streaming landscape of Apple TV+ with “Ted Lasso.” Though “Lasso” presumably ended its run after three near-legendary seasons, Lawrence’s newest series, “Shrinking,” was only just emerging from the gates, a show now gifted with a second excursion into a world of therapists, stabs at personal growth and the sort of interpersonal dilemmas standard for any half-hour sitcom.

When it premiered in early 2023, the Apple TV+ series “Shrinking” impressed most notably in its ability to seamlessly mix humor and a very serious subject matter.
Therapist and walking, talking Hipaa violation Jimmy (Jason Segel) mostly avoided confronting his trauma after his wife Tia was killed by a drunken driver by finding unorthodox, often unethical new ways for his patients to confront their own. Deft writing allowed grief, Ptsd and antisocial and compulsive behaviors to be handled comedically without the people involved being butts of jokes.
Moreover, Jimmy was essentially an antihero buffered by our residual affection for Segel from his more vulnerable performances on “How I Met Your Mother” and in film roles. In addition to audience goodwill, Jimmy was ensconced in the friendship, community and wisecracks of his fellow characters. Although Ted Lasso season 3 was supposed to be the final season, it was recently announced that Apple TV greenlit the sitcom for another season. For the most part, this is exciting news. New Girl is definitely one of the most heartwarmingly funny series about friends and love created by Elizabeth Meriwether. The Fox comedy series follows the chirpy and naive Jessica as she moves into a loft with 3 guys who are equally as quirky and weird. New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone, Lamorne Morris, Damon Wayans Jr., Nasim Pedrad, and Megan Fox. New Girl lasted for seven seasons ending its run in 2018, so if you loved the unending optimism, quirky personalities, and a group of young friends trying to find their way here are some similar shows you should check out next.

One of the most popular characters from the hit Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso” will have a lesser role in the upcoming fourth season. Philip Dunster, who plays the talented but self-centered soccer star Jamie Tartt, will no longer be a regular cast member. Entertainment reporter Matthew Belloni revealed Dunster may make some guest appearances but his time on screen will be significantly reduced.
This change comes from scheduling conflicts with other acting jobs Dunster has taken. He is committed to the Prime Video thriller “The Devil’s Hour” where he plays Mike Stevens. Dunster also joined the cast of Apple TV’s drama “Surface” in a season two role. With commitments to both shows, he no longer has availability to be a series regular on “Ted Lasso.”

Ted Lasso may be close to returning, but not everyone will seemingly be back for the fourth season. Puck's Matthew Belloni recently shared which fan-favorite character is unlikely to return to the Apple TV+ series.
According to Belloni on X, "Phil Dunster, who plays Jamie Tartt, is not expected to return for Season 4" of Ted Lasso due to scheduling conflicts with other shows. This makes the actor the first reported cast member to not be coming back for Season 4, which is very close to getting the greenlight from Warner Bros. Television. Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Walton), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) are so far the only actors that are 100% confirmed for Ted Lasso Season 4, with Wbtv currently in the works on getting new deals made for co-creators and stars Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard)

The U.K.’s Reading & Leeds Festival issued a pair of apologies this weekend to two of the lineup’s biggest acts after technical issues and weather upended sets by Lana Del Rey and Reneé Rapp.
Del Rey headlined Reading on Saturday night and, by all accounts, delivered a terrific set that was unceremoniously cut short. While the songwriter has typically been concluding her shows with “A&w” and “Young and Beautiful,” those songs were scrapped at Reading when Del Rey’s microphone and video screens were turned off, and a fireworks presentation began.

It’s the question on every Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce fan’s mind. Jason Sudeikis asked it in public.
While in character for a skit during the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, the Ted Lasso star asked Kelce, “Hey… when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?,” referring to Swift. The question is a dated term referring to “legitimizing” a relationship with marriage.
Sudeikis, joined by actors Robert Smigel and George Wendt, also in character, as well as Kelce, sat together at a table.
Sudeikis and Smigel discussed Kelce asking Swift to foot the bill for a new stadium, which the NFL star laughingly said, “Ain’t happening,”
Then Sudeikis, in character, asked his big question.
“Hey Travis, real talk Ok, just the guys here …” he began. He then asked his “honest woman” question.
The audience cheered, but Kelce just smiled and stroked his beard.

Coachella 2024 kicked off Friday, and festival season is officially upon us once again.
With over 100,000 festival goers in the desert for this weekend’s debut, Day One was a stacked opening, with Lana Del Rey bringing out Billie Eilish for a duet, Shakira shocking the crowd and announcing a world tour during Bizarrap’s set, and Peso Pluma putting corridos on the world stage.
If Euphoria core influenced Coachella’s fashion in years past, 2024 has now gone cosmic cowboy as the silver boots and cowboy hats took over the festival grounds.

Brett Goldstein's upcoming mystery role in Apple TV+'s Shrinking eases the uncertainty around Ted Lasso season 4's fate. A handful of Ted Lasso cast and crew members have hinted at potential spin-offs or a possible fourth season (but nothing has been confirmed). Shrinking season 2 could premiere as early as the fall of 2024.
Ted Lasso breakout star Brett Goldstein's new role will make the wait to see whether Ted Lasso season 4 happens a little easier. The Ted Lasso season 3 ending neatly tied up the beloved Apple TV+ series starring Jason Sudeikis in the titular role, as AFC Richmond vies for victory in the Premier League. Ted Lasso's "be a goldfish" saying teaches moving on from mistakes for happiness and success. Coach Lasso's wisdom promotes kindness and support among players, leading to a winning culture. The show's success on Apple TV+ stems from Ted's ability to motivate and guide his team effectively.

The 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards have wrapped, and the full SAG winners list shows momentum for Lily Gladstone in the Best Actress race at the Oscars — as well as for “Oppenheimer” and its very possible march toward Best Picture.
“Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” led the nominations when they were announced January 10 with four each. “Oppenheimer” ended up winning the most of any film, with three prizes: Best Cast (the top prize), Best Actor Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr. “Barbie” went home empty-handed.
Lily Gladstone won Best Actress for “Killers of the Flower Moon” over Emma Stone for “Poor Things,” who won the prize at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. Da’Vine Joy Randolph won the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress for “The Holdovers,” and has pretty much swept that category at every awards show this season.

No one loves Eli Manning as much as I do. Somewhere, I have a book on Manning inscribed, “To the only Giants fan who never booed Eli.” (Accurate.) There are the jerseys, cards, the autographs, the bobbleheads. I was at Eli’s first game, his retirement ceremony game, and so many in between. One time, I interviewed Manning while he was ostensibly promoting Frank’s RedHot Original sauce just so I could relive the glory days he never knew we shared. But I know a ripoff when I see one, and Hulu’s new series “Chad Powers” is a direct attempt to capitalize on the gigantic success of Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso.”

Despite the criticism, Ted Lasso season 3 still received a solid 82% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, though lower than the previous seasons.
Ted Lasso has experienced critical acclaim throughout its three seasons, and even its worst-rated episode by viewers is actually quite important for the show. The Apple TV+ series about an American football coach who takes the reigns of AFC Richmond soccer club in the UK has aired 34 episodes to date. While Ted Lasso season 3 felt like the conclusion of the series, an announcement still hasn't been made regarding the future of the feel-good show. A Ted Lasso season 4 is certainly possible, but there are also several spinoffs that could be explored.

Premiering last summer, “The Bear” has become the most-watched comedy series in FX history. Season 1 amassed a total of 13 Emmy nominations, making it the third most-nominated comedy this year behind “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (14) and “Ted Lasso” (21). Included as part of their showcase is Jon Bernthal for Best Comedy Guest Actor for his performance as Michael “Mikey” Berzatto, his first Emmy bid after over 20 years working in the industry.
Like many actors, Bernthal’s first television appearance was in the “Law & Order” franchise on the spinoff “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” in 2002. After many appearances on a number of network dramas and sitcoms, he became known for his role as Shane Walsh in the first two seasons of “The Walking Dead,” and went on to work with such revered film directors as Martin Scorsese (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Denis Villeneuve (“Sicario”) and Edgar Wright (“Baby Driver”). Stuntmen react to Coach Beard's rooftop jump in Ted Lasso season 2, revealing how the stunt was achieved with separate jumps and clever editing. The quick and seamless nature of the stunt made it impressive and like it didn't require a stunt double, but careful planning and editing were involved. The scene's divisive reception due to its lack of connection to the season's plot might be seen differently after considering the detailed work that went into it.
Coach Beard's rooftop jump from Ted Lasso season 2 leaves stuntmen speechless. The comedy series follows an American college football coach, played by Jason Sudeikis, who agrees to manage English Premier League team AFC Richmond despite his lack of experience. Praised for its humor and performances, particularly that of Sudeikis, Ted Lasso has quickly become one of the most successful shows on Apple TV+. The rest of its cast includes Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstien, Jeremy Swift,...
