As a wheelchair user myself, I had an interest in this story. I like seeing my fellow "wheelies" succeed beyond what society expects of them. Ms. Snyder's story is indeed compelling. Unfortunately, the overdone melodrama in this film actually undercuts it, in my opinion. And a couple of elements in this film make it clear it was done on the cheap. Still, I thought the lead actress did a good job. And I like that Ms. Snyder -- whom this film is about -- did stunt riding in this film. A positive step for including people with disabilities in making movies.
It's got a lot going for it: based on a true story, inspirational, horses, good supporting cast. (FYI - all the stunt riding after the accident was done by Amberley Snyder, herself, and the riding before the accident was done by her little sister, Autumn.) I give this movie a 7 (good) out of 10. {Drama}
I had a back injury in 2005, watching this movie was very emotional for me. No matter the odds you have to go on, and find a way as much as it hurts or as frustrated as you get. Having a special bond with animals will help you through. Stories like this need to be told. You never know if one day it will happen to you.
Every now and then, we come across stories like this that inspire us and bring us little closer to the rhythm of life... I usually do not write reviews of uplifting and feel-good movies.. however, watching this one with a rider at home almost compelled me :-) story of a young girl's struggle to coming to terms with a bitter reality and her determination.. to some extent it does lack emotional aspect, depth of the situation and characterization a little, but stories like this deserve to be told.. Convincing performance by the protagonist..
I have to admit this isn't normally my sort of film and I reluctantly watched only to be hooked early on following the tragic events. The story is truly inspirational and whilst I have no knowledge or interest in horses or rodeo it was more the human story of triumphing against the odds that shone through. Well portrayed by the whole cast and a joy to watch.

- GoofsWhen Amberly meets up with Tate at Bomont High School, Tate holds a paper with his speech in his hand for most of the time. When he goes up the stairs and realizes that Amberly cannot follow him, the paper has suddenly disappeared. In the next scene, it is back in his hand again.
