Following a roaring debut at Sundance earlier this year, Neon has released the official trailer for Together, revealing a first look at the upcoming body horror film starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie.
While plot details remain scarce, the synopsis reads, "Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh."
Australian filmmaker Michael Shanks (The Wizards of Aus) makes his feature directorial debut with the film, which has received widespread critical acclaim and currently boasts a perfect 100% certification on review aggregator RottenTomatoes.
In a statement, he said, "I’ve been with my partner for over 15 years and, having met at ‘schoolies’ (a tragic Australian equivalent of Spring Break...

The half-hour project follows a hot-shot rookie WNBA player and her inexperienced agent navigating the wild ups and downs of the world of women’s professional basketball. Toward the end of his 2023 HBO comedy special From Bleak to Dark, Marc Maron tells the audience a high-wire joke he’s been working on since his partner, the director Lynn Shelton, died in 2020 from a rare blood disease.
It starts with Maron on the way to the hospital to say goodbye to Shelton after a doctor arranges for the comedian to see her body. When Maron gets there, he takes his time saying goodbye. As he’s walking out of the ICU, he stops to consider a thought: “Selfie?” he asks himself. “No,” he finally decides. Most of the audience laughs immediately, but a few gasp before succumbing to their chuckles. It’s the kind of blunt and slightly scandalous humor Maron has built his career on, but it’s also textured with something rare for the comedian: a tender emotional awareness.
There are scenes of Maron workshopping this joke in Are We Good?...

Marc Maron has a new stand-up comedy special coming to HBO later this year.
The special, which Variety hears consists of material from his “All In” tour, will be filmed in New York City in May.
The comedy hour will be Maron’s sixth stand-up special and comes two years after his latest for HBO, “From Bleak to Dark,” in which Maron discussed the death of his partner, Lynn Shelton, who died of cancer during the pandemic.
Maron is perhaps best-known for his podcast “Wtf With Marc Maron,” which launched in 2009 and has become one of the most famous podcasts in the country, with more than 1,600 episodes. On it, he’s interviewed everyone from Barack Obama to Keith Richards to Carol Burnett. (His episode with Robin Williams became the first one-on-one podcast episode to enter America’s National Recording Registry.)

Several months ago, we heard that production had wrapped on an A24 project called Death of a Unicorn (it originally had an E at the end its title), which stars Paul Rudd (Ant-Man franchise) and Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), was executive produced by Hereditary/Midsommar/Beau Is Afraid director Ari Aster. We’re anxious to see how this one has turned out – and thankfully, we don’t have much longer to wait. A24 will be giving Death of a Unicorn a theatrical release on March 28th. With one month to go until that date arrives, a new trailer for the film has dropped online and can be seen in the embed above.
Said to be a dark comedy, Death of a Unicorn marks the feature debut of writer/director Alex Scharfman, who co-founded the production company Secret Engine and has produced films like Blow the Man Down and Resurrection. The story...

Nicholas Galintzine has the power in the first image from Travis Knight’s Masters of the Universe. Today, Amazon MGM Studios unveiled a close-up image of Galintzine as He-Man with the hero’s iconic Power Sword in hand. Though slightly dark, the picture shows the powerful weapon that helps Prince Adam transform into the all-powerful warrior of Eternia, He-Man, and the blade looks incredible. You can also glimpse Galintzine’s chiseled physique and He-Man’s vembraces tightly secured to his forearms. It’s funny. The photo leaves much to the imagination, but I’ll be damned if I’m not getting good vibes. The Power Sword looks legit Af, and Galintzine’s gym routine has treated him well.

Cameras are now rolling on Amazon MGM and Mattel's live-action Masters of the Universe movie in London, and THR brings word on three new additions to the cast.
Agatha All Along's Sasheer Zamata will play Suzie, Double Exposure actor Christian Vunipola will play Hussein, and Eternals stunt performer and The Brothers Sun actor Jon Xue Zhang will play Ram-Man.
Suzie and Hussein are most likely characters created for the movie (there's a good chance they will be friends of Adam on Earth), but Ram-Man should be very familiar to fans of the classic animated series and action figure line.

Bumblebee director Travis Knight takes on the duties of bringing He-Man to the big screen in the upcoming Masters of the Universe adaptation. Knight’s impressive work on Kubo and the Two Strings was followed up by the Transformers prequel spin-off and most fans of the franchise hailed it as one of the best and faithful to the original series. Knight was a professed fan of the 80s original, which made him pretty ideal for that property and one can assume he’ll bring the same enthusiasm to his Masters of the Universe reboot.

Every day brings an onslaught of distracting news and controversies, and it's easy to forget yesterday's tragedy and simply move on to tomorrow's in a case of "disaster amnesia." This "flooding the zone," as Steve Bannon calls it, is intentionally designed to overwhelm people, so it's important to focus on the tangible problems we can all actually help. One of them is the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires that destroyed more than 18,000 homes and structures, burned more than 57,000 acres of land, and killed at least 29 people. A new charity benefit, Multicon, is bringing together creative artists of all kinds to help raise money to rebuild homes and help people who are really in need. It's happening on Feb. 22 at The Preserve LA and you can get tickets and information here. You can find other ways to help at the bottom of the article.

“Cobra Kai” might be officially wrapped up but there are plenty of other shows that can scratch that lingering itch.
When the “Karate Kid” sequel series was at it’s best it was a bingeable mix of ’80s nostalgia, sports drama, and high school melodrama that balanced comedy with more serious moments. Luckily there are a number of other great – and equally bingeable – shows out there.
Below are seven options for shows like “Cobra Kai” to try if you’re trying to capture the same vibes that made it such a great watch.

Production is now underway on the live-action Masters of the Universe movie in London, and the first set photos have been shared online.
We recently got a first look at star Nicholas Galitzine in the process of training to take on the lead role of He-Man, and we now have our first look at the actor filming scenes as Prince Adam.
As you can see, Galitzine is sporting that unmistakable He-Man-style hairdo, as well as Adam's signature pink attire. The photos also reveal a first look at the hero's Power Sword... which appears to have been confiscated by the police.
Yes, these snaps also confirm those recent plot rumors that the movie will be partially set on Earth before Adam (presumably) returns to Eternia.
Though official story details have not been disclosed, it seems clear that this adaptation is going to make a pretty major change to the established lore surrounding Prince Adam/He-Man.

I’ll admit, I rolled my eyes when it was announced that Nicholas Galitzine had been cast to play He-Man in the new live-action Masters of the Universe movie that’s supposed to be going into production very soon. I just didn’t see any potential for He-Man in this actor. But now, a behind-the-scenes image has dropped online to confirm that Galitzine has been putting in the work to become the character, as he is now buffed up and blonde. You can see the image in the X embed below.

JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray had the chance to watch the comedy Friendship at the Toronto International Film Festival last year – and he loved it, giving it an 8/10 review that you can read at This Link. A24 picked up the distribution rights to the film back in September, and they’re planning to give it a theatrical release on May 9th (after screening it at SXSW in March). To start building the hype, A24 has just released a trailer for Friendship, and you can check it out in the embed above.

Since the end of Game of Thrones, creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss have focused much of their energy on 3 Body Problem, an ambitious, challenging sci-fi series on Netflix. But while we wait for the second season of that show, they're serving as executive producers on a couple others. That includes Death By Lightning, based on the 2011 novel Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President by Candice Miller.
Death by Lightning (a much shorter but still punchy title) is about the 20th president of the United States, James Garfield. He was inaugurated as president in 1881, a time when the country was still healing from the wounds of the Civil War. He was considered effective, but was assassinated just nine months into his term.

The Masters of the Universe toy and cartoon franchise got a live-action film adaptation back in 1987, with Dolph Lundgren taking on the role of lead hero He-Man, who defends the planet Eternia (and the rest of the universe) from evil forces, usually headed up by the villain Skeletor. To cut costs, the majority of the film is set on 1980s Earth, with He-Man and various other characters being transported from Eternia to Earth with the use of a “Cosmic Key.” Another live-action film adaptation of Masters of the Universe has been in development hell for a long time, but it looks like might finally escape into production, as Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios are pushing the project forward and aiming for a theatrical release date of June 5, 2026. The cast has been assembling over the last several months, with Nicholas Galitzine set to play He-Man, Camila Mendes (Riverdale) taking on the role of Teela,...

In the world of television, whether that's network TV or streaming, there's constantly renewals and cancellations. It can be hard when we have to say goodbye to a show we love, but that's just the reality of it sometimes. However, what really hurts is when you get the news that a series has been renewed, and then that decision is reversed.
Over the last few years, that's happened to a quite a number of shows for various reasons. For some, it was the pandemic in 2020. Others, the 2023 writers and actors strikes took a toll. And then there are certain productions that are cancelled and the decision to bring them back was reversed, with no explanation given. As mentioned, there's a good number of series' that have experienced this. But here's four that we're disappointed by the most.

The brutal new Western, American Primeval, stars Betty Gilpin, in a role that is drastically different from her most famous character in Glow. Gilpin has been acting since 2008, but her career break came through playing the polarizing Dr. Carrie Roman in Nurse Jackie. Gilpin's career rose throughout the 2010s, with appearances in Elementary and Masters of Sex, before playing the soap star Debbie Eagan (a.k.a. Liberty Belle) in Glow. American Primeval is one of the best Westerns on Netflix, but as many of Gilpin's previous roles have been in dramas, this treads new ground for her.
Westerns like Yellowstone tend to be more like soaps, casting the reality of the American Wild West in a softer light. That said, American Primeval verges on horror at times and is not afraid to show gore. Though the series appears to start with the story of a woman and her son...

American Primeval creator and director Peter Berg gives a surprising update on the chances of a spinoff. American Primeval has quickly established itself as a hit since it premiered in early January. The ultra-violent Western consists of six episodes, with The Revenant's Mark L. Smith writing the script. It takes place in 1857 during the Utah War, focusing on the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Isaac (Friday Night Lights actor Taylor Kitsch) and Sara (Glow's Betty Gilpin) are at the center of the story, as their journeys anchor the surrounding chaos.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Berg responded to the idea that Isaac would be a solid choice as the focus of a prequel. Berg, who is known for directing films such as Patriots Day and Friday Night Lights, reveals that there are talks underway about an American Primeval spinoff and that it would be an approach they would...

"A Singular Genius In Cinema": Hollywood Mourns The Passing Of Legendary Writer/Director David Lynch
David Lynch, the legendary filmmaker and radical auteur known for his surrealist vision in works like Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and Twin Peaks, has passed away at the age of 78, and Hollywood is paying tribute. His family confirmed the news in a heartfelt Facebook post, writing, “There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’” Lynch, who has smoked cigarettes since the age of 8, had been candid about his health challenges after being diagnosed with emphysema in 2020.
Hollywood’s reaction to Lynch’s passing has been colossal and deeply emotional, as colleagues and frequent collaborators—like Nicolas Cage—reflect on his immense contributions to film and television. Taylor Kitsch and Peter Berg are reuniting for their fifth project, with Betty Gilpin also along for the ride, in American Primeval. Kitsch and Berg first began working together on the TV adaptation of Friday Night Lights, which also marked the actor's breakthrough role on screen, before going on to work together on 2012's Battleship adaptation, 2013's Lone Survivor and 2023's Painkiller. Gilpin, meanwhile, first found success with her supporting role in Nurse Jackie before garnering acclaim for her leading turns in Glow, Mrs. Davis and The Hunt.

Everything we know about American Primeval (Photo Credit – Instagram)
American Primeval is all about raw survival, gruesome violence, and a fight for power in a lawless world. Netflix is bringing the heat on January 9, with a series that will make The Revenant look like a walk in the park.
The trailer? Yeah, it’s already setting the tone. Blood is spilled, bodies hit the dirt, and the stakes are nothing short of deadly. Directed by Friday Night Lights’ Pete Berg and written by The Revenant’s Mark L. Smith, this six-episode series takes viewers to 1857, where America is still a mess of violence, fear, and chaos. It’s got all the intensity you’d expect from the guys who brought you Lone Survivor and Painkiller, but with way more grit.
So, what’s the story? Think harsh, brutal, and dark. American Primeval is a fictionalized dive into the bloody birth of the American West.

I Saw the TV Glow is one of the best films of 2024, and director Jane Schoenbrun's next project sounds like another must-see. Schoenberg's next film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, was revealed in June 2024 in a profile from The New Yorker, published one month after I Saw the TV Glow hit theaters. While still in the early development stages, Schoenbrun has revealed more details about their upcoming film, which sounds like a worthy follow-up to I Saw the TV Glow and one of the most exciting pitches for an upcoming movie.
Writer Siddhant Adlakha, via Bloody Disgusting, said that during a Q&a, director Schoenbrun described their next film, “Portrait of a Lady on Fire, set in a Friday the 13th sequel." The movie was previously described as a slasher lesbian comedy. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasama revolves around a director brought on board to...
