Fans of Hayao Miyazaki's 1984 film Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind have been whispering about a possible sequel for some time. However, newly-surfaced comments from the renowned director and his industry colleague, Hideaki Anno (Neon GenesisEvangelion), suggest that a Nausicaa continuation is still a long way off, if it's ever coming at all.

As reported by French anime blogger Catsuka, Hayao Miyazaki and Anno, who famously served as a key animator for Nausicaa, recently met together at Miyazaki's "Butaya" office in Tokyo. On X (formerly Twitter), Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion films) featured a photo from this meetup, which depicts Anno beside a clean-shaven Miyazaki. According to Catsuka, Anno made a reference to the potential Nausicaa sequel that Ghibli fans began speculating about back in 2023, although not a good one for fans still hoping to see a follow-up movie someday. Warner Bros. is developing an exciting new action thriller called F.A.S.T., also known as Untitled Taylor Sheridan. The film is written by Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind Yellowstone and Sicario, with Gavin O’Connor now also working on the script.

According to a report from Daniel Richtman’s Patreon, F.A.S.T. will follow an ex-Marine who takes on dangerous missions to survive. Struggling to make ends meet, he agrees to run illegal operations for the DEA. His job? Infiltrating the drug trade to help take down powerful dealers.

The film is expected to be full of intense action, moral dilemmas, and high-stakes drama—something Sheridan is known for. His past projects, including Wind River and Hell or High Water, have explored similar themes of law enforcement, crime, and survival in harsh conditions.

WB is developing a film titled F.A.S.T. (also known as Untitled Taylor Sheridan), written by Taylor Sheridan and now Gavin O’Connor.

Descriptions of the Apple TV+ series “Dope Thief” as a “drug ring drama” are not exactly accurate. Yes, it revolves around small-time crooks and friends Ray and Manny posing as DEA agents to rob equally small-time drug dealers. The 1995 Sylvester Stallone sci-fi action movie "Judge Dredd" is kind of a hot mess. Based on the "Judge Dredd" stories in the British comic anthology series "2000 A.D.," the movie follows Stallone as the eponymous Judge Dredd, one of a number of "judges" who serve as judge, jury, and executioner in an attempt to stop rampant crime in an overpopulated city. With his iconic red and black helmet and massive golden epaulets on his shoulders, Stallone's Dredd is a pretty direct rendition of his comic book counterpart. Several great stories about the underbelly of Victorian London get smushed together to yield something less great but often extremely entertaining in Steven Knight’s new Hulu drama, A Thousand Blows.

Knight comes off less like a master storyteller here than a highly enthusiastic autodidact learning new things and then flailing a bit in making connections. That just means that, at its worst, A Thousand Blows — which caps these first six episodes with a “To Be Continued” title card and clips from additional upcoming episodes — will send interested observers online in search of the true stories about all-female criminal gangs, nascent gloved boxing and 19th-century concert hall performers.

So you’ve got well-acted, well-produced, genre-bending period television and an inspiration to do further research? You could do far worse, and the wildly prolific Knight — he of Peaky Blinders, The Veil and All the Light We Cannot See — has done both better and worse.

Action fans have patiently waited almost a decade for the return of Ben Affleck as the hitman/accountant Christian Wolff in The Accountant 2. Now, with the action thriller sequel set for release this year, returning director Gavin O’Connor has teased further plans for the franchise, and his hopes to wrap up Christian’s arc with The Accountant 3.

Discussing The Accountant 2 with Vanity Fair, O’Connor, who is best recognized for the Tom Hardy Mma drama Warrior alongside The Accountant series, revealed that he “always envisioned Christian Wolff’s story as a trilogy,” and has already been having discussions with Affleck about a further action-packed adventure.

“I have a lot of thoughts about what to do with the third. I’ve been thinking about it for a lot of years."

The crime gangs are back, baby … well, almost. While there are some pretty righteous gritty crime drama/thriller series out there, none are as brutal, brilliant, and bloody as Gangs of London. It’s been well over two years since season 2 dropped in the UK and the U.S., and since season 3 of the hit series was renewed. Now, thanks to Sky TV’s new trailer, we finally know when to expect its return, and it’s much sooner than you think. Gangs of London season 3 is set to premiere in the UK in March 2025, but when might it premiere in the U.S.?

The first season of Gangs of London premiered in April 2020 both in the UK and the U.S., then we were all left with a super long, nail-biting wait for season 2, which finally dropped in the UK in October 2022, followed by a November 2022 release date in the U.

Amazon MGM Studios has revealed the first photos from The Accountant 2, which will have its World Premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival on March 8.

Directed by Gavin O’Connor, the sequel will open in theaters on April 25.

In the follow-up, Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case.

We finally know when (roughly) Venom star and Oscar-nominee Tom Hardy will smash his way onto Netflix in the adrenaline-fueled first trailer for the long-awaited action thriller, Havoc. Directed by Gareth Evans, who has proven his unmatched affinity for the action genre with the likes of The Raid and The Raid 2, as well as the crime series Gangs of London, Havoc finds Hardy charging his way into the criminal underworld as a world-weary detective on the hunt for a politician’s estranged son.

A take on Ivan Reitman’s 2014 sports movie, Draft Day, is coming to television. The movie, which starred Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, and the late Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) focused on an NFL football general manager, but the new series will be set in a different sports world - the NBA.

Per Deadline, Lionsgate TV, SpringHill, and Madison Wells are developing the Draft Day series that will “capture the drama and excitement of watching basketball players get drafted and fulfill their dreams,” in a similar fashion to the Reitman film. The film version currently has a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes and made $29.8 million at the worldwide box office.

NBA star LeBron James and Maverick Carter founded SpringHill, which will executive produce the TV series. Madison Wells, which produced 2014’s Draft Day, will produce the show. No writer has been attached to the project.

Exclusive: Ivan Reitman’s 2014 football movie Draft Day from Lionsgate is being adapted for television with a new twist.

From Lionsgate TV, SpringHill and Madison Wells, the series in development will capture the drama and excitement of watching basketball players get drafted and fulfill their dreams, similar to the film starring Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner and Chadwick Boseman set in the world of the NFL.

The LeBron James- and Maverick Carter-founded SpringHill will executive produce and Madison Wells, which produced the original film, will produce the TV series. A writer has not been attached.

The Dragon Ball franchise has been around for three decades, and it helped to create a new generation of anime fans in the mid-'90s. Most of Dragon Ball's characters are martial artists who possess superhuman strength, durability, and speed, and many of them can use ki as a weapon. All of these characters are strong in their way, but certain characters stand above all the rest in terms of power.

Many powerful Dragon Ball characters have appeared in non-canon video games, movies, and anime. Unfortunately, they do not compare to the characters who are part of the official canon. With the addition of Dragon Ball Super, most of the franchise's strongest canon characters are literal gods or beings with god-level strength.
