    this version disappointed me

Solid n reliable Bachchan returns as Nagre in #Sarkar3, but this version disenchanted me. The previous parts were far superior. The standard RGV practices are on full display here, like, in-your-face close ups of people n random objects, dark rooms n characters, slow dialogue recitation, tension-filled situations n sudden slayings. Amit is good as the faithful grandson. Manoj is bumped off before he makes an impact. Gifted actresses like Pathak n Hattangady r wasted. Jackie is made to look more funny than intimidating. Some more brutality would have definitely added value to the film. Rating 2.5/5.

    Failed to meet the expectations!!!!!

Being a fan of Amitabh Bacchan and Sarkar (Part 1), my expectations from the film were way too high! But was disappointed after watching the movie. The suspense was created but after a point they were just stretching the story line and then the story became too obvious to guess. Compared to Sarkar this one wasn't able to create the same hold. The feeling we got when heard theme music in Sarkar that was missing in this one. Talking about acting Big B has justified his character of Subhash Nagre, no flaw there. Amit Sadh also up to a certain extend made justice to his character. Yami Gautam was a disappointment. She didn't have much to do in the movie. Other then them performance of other actors was though not applaud-able but was not even substandard.

So overall, the movie is a one time go but you will not miss anything if you don't go.

    Not like the previous offerings

First, the good bits: Choreography, music, direction and scene settings; the transitions. Etc The bad bits: The plot. The script - that kept us alert and in raptures like the first two. It transcends from a fairly good movie until the last 20 minutes - when it becomes quite unbelievable. Like as if the script writer was changed halfway . . . . The first two movies were a continuation of a theme. This one starts from nowhere and ends - well, I'll let you decide.

    Political drama with dark overtones.

Note: Pls watch the Sarkar 1 and 2 for a better understanding of the story and characters.

The Sarkar franchise continues from where it left off in Sarkar-2 with Amitabh portraying the role of Sarkar, head of the most powerful family in Maharashtra's politics. The plot revolves around the conflict between Sarkar and the unscrupulous builder lobby over a plot of land to be re-developed.

After the death of both his sons ,Sarkar is shown to have aged but is certainly not down and out.He is now ably supported his 2 lieutenants Gokul (Ronit Roy) and Raman (Parag) who is mute. His grandson Shivaji (Amit Sadh) , Kay Kay Menon's son (who has been bumped off by Abhishek B in Sarkar1) comes backs into his life and things take a turn for the worse.

Twists in the plot : 1)Are Shivaji's intentions Honorable or is he actually the vengeful son who has turned up to avenge his fathers death??

2)The other twist is when Gokul is coerced into joining the enemies of Sarkar by exploiting his insecurity after Shivaji's entry into Sarkar's life and the irresistible offer of having Sarkar's position and status in Maharashtra's politics. Has he actually turned traitor or is he still loyal to Sarkar & working covertly for him??

The plot moves through these ever changing twists and turns before the truth is finally unveiled in the climax.

Cast : Amitabh as Sarkar is amazing & gives a restrained performance ,delivering shock value exactly when required. Awesome screen presence!!!

Ronit Roy is also great as Sarkars right hand who controls everything behind the scenes without too many dialogues , mostly conveying his emotions through his eyes only.

Amit Sadh plays his part to the T, as an impetuous & reckless young man , trying to prove himself a worthy successor in the eyes of his grandfather.

Yami Gautam as Sadh's girlfriend has a chilling, unblinking, vengeful look throughout which gives you the creeps. This could've been better exploited … alas !!

Manoj Vajpayee's character of a power hungry politician could've been better to make a substantial impact on the film . Not bad but a bit too loud !!!

Jackie Shroff as the don cum crooked businessman mouths cryptic dialogues which can rack your brain all night long...if you try to make sense of them , is funny to say the least !!

Verdict : Most of the film hovers in the dark . This darkness has been used effectively along with the "Govinda Govinda" background score to jolt you throughout the film. The Ganesh aarati song by Amitabh is great and is the only song in the whole movie.

The climax is worth waiting for and the twists and turns in the plot keep you firmly grounded to your seat.

Well directed by Ramgopal Verma, albeit with a few loose ends as far as some of the characters go. Not bad at all .

Watch it if you are a fan of the Sarkar franchise. I can assure you that the characters will keep you thoroughly engrossed.

Climax is good but complete journey towards it, is shaky

Shot taking style with dark key lighting, focus shifting, out focus to in focus, are very tiring and irritating for eyes and that is in abundant. Even director dared to keep a dog statue in focus while keeping Mr. Sarkar out of focus that is just unbearable because it's always a delight to watch him. Heroine face has captured between handle of coffee mug. Film is stuffed with such type of shots. Story is very convenient. A Dubai based builder, his keep for glamour quotient by showcasing her body. Conflict and confusion between Sarkar's own blood that is grandson and old body guards. Keeping name Gandhi to a hard core shrewd villain is creativity by makers!! Film is typically slow. Characters are not well established so you didn't attach with them. So climax comes just as an information without much surprise. Performance wise Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is fantastic as usual. Manoj Bajpeyi is marvelous too in his guest appearance. Jachie Shraff is fine. Rest are just OK. Unable to understand that why did Yami Gautem accept this role which had literally nothing to do.
