A typical Ram Gopal Varma movie which had something that was missing in his recent ventures. It gives a hint that RGV might have regained his touch to at least make a decent movie. Sarkar 3 is decently written and directed but has nothing unique or impacting.

First, the good bits: Choreography, music, direction and scene settings; the transitions. Etc The bad bits: The plot. The script - that kept us alert and in raptures like the first two. It transcends from a fairly good movie until the last 20 minutes - when it becomes quite unbelievable. Like as if the script writer was changed halfway . . . . The first two movies were a continuation of a theme. This one starts from nowhere and ends - well, I'll let you decide.
Sarkar 3 is RGV's desperate attempt to regain lost territory and he does succeed to a certain level. The movie is for those who have the patience to wait till the climax when all the pieces finally come together to complete this puzzle called Sarkar 3. As always in a Ram Gopal Varma movie, the camera work and the background score are exceptionally good. The movie has nothing new to offer but some fine performances by Mr. Bachchan and Amit Sadh make up for the slow pace. Manoj Bajpai is impressive as Govind while Bajrangbali Singh who plays Gandhi is a great find. Yami Gautam holds on to the same 'horrifying' expression throughout the movie. Ronit Roy is another fine actor who never lets his audience down although Jackie Shroff does get on your nerves. Unlike Sarkar, the movie has no great dialogues worth remembering. All said and done, the movie is a good reminder of the elite class of directors RGV once belonged to.
I am a fan of the SARKAR franchise and enjoyed this installment better than Part II. Amitji was excellent in his role as were Ronit Roy and Jackie Shroff. It was a dark film, but like Sarkar it was principled. It portrayed Sarkar as both cunningly political and devotedly committed to his god, Ganesha. I sincerely hope that SARKAR 4 is in the works for future release.
Ram Gopal Verma's 'Sarkar 3' is An Underwhelming Watch, Despite A Star-Studded Cast! The two parts prior to this, were well-made films (although the first one was literally The Godfathter, which Ramu admitted himself), but the third time around, Sarkar seems to have lost his edge. Its strictly an okay film, that is shun down by a predictable story-line.
'Sarkar 3' Synopsis: Shubash Nagre aka Sarkar (Amitabh Bachchan), finds himself caught in between a web of conspiracies of corrupt politicians, a powerful business & his own grandson, Shivaji (Amit Sadh).
'Sarkar 3' is clichéd film, where nothing unpredictable happens, expect for the ending, which has a nice twist. The narrative is watchable, but it never arrests to a point where you'd root for Sarkar or even be engaged by his villains. P Jaya Kumar's Screenplay sticks mostly to predictability & hence doesn't offer anything new. Ramu's Direction is average. The filmmaker isn't in form this time around. Cinematography is standard. Editing lacks crispness. Art Direction is well-done.
Performance-Wise: Amitabh Bachchan returns as Sarkar & he's alright. The rustiness in his voice, makes it a little hard to understand the dialogue he speaks. Amit Sadh as Shivaji has strong screen presence, but channels Big B a bit too much. Jackie Shroff, in the most ill-written villainous role here, is wasted. Manoj Bajpayee is fantastic & undoubtedly, the show-stealer. The acting giant enacts the corrupt, evil politician to perfection. Yami Gautam is fair. Ronit Roy is as usual. Rohini Hattangadi is hardly there. Others lend support.
On the whole, 'Sarkar 3' is an average fare, at best.
