Returning to New York

John Carpenter: Escape from New York (2016)

John Carpenter last directed a movie in 2010 but in 2016 fans got excited because the legendary filmmaker was taking a band out for a small tour. Us fans also got the director making a couple music videos to show off his band and this one here is a very good rendition of the famous ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK theme. There's no question this version doesn't quite have the sting of the original but it's a very good version and the director makes a good looking video. The B&W cinematography certainly helps make the downbeat score even more dramatic and it there's no question that fans will get a smile out of seeing Carpenter work his magic.
