This project became a last minute film idea that replaced another ready to film script Andrew Dawe was prepping for. Originally Andrew was about to start filming his apocalyptic film idea (that eventually got made 3 years later), but the actress who was going to star in it had to abandon the project last minute, but after reviewing the technical requirements for the project Andrew decided it would be best to shelve the project and went for a subject matter that was more familiar and easier to produce, which became 'Reason to Kill'.
