Nice subject
But the narration and the pace of the movie is very very slow, only this makes this movie a one time watch
Loved the performances of Parambrata and Arun Guhathakurta
Another nice film from Kaushik Ganguly; though whether you will like it or not is more subjective this time. Cinemawala tries to make a case against piracy. Since this is an era of rampant piracy, anyone who fails to see the unethical side of the same might not relate well to the main subject. Kaushik has found a sensible way to handle the topic and told it by keeping the troubled relationship between a father-son duo in center stage instead.
The cast managed to deliver really good performance and portrayed believable characters. Cinemawala successfully projects some relatable and touching moments. I found the ending to be somewhat predictable, but overall it's definitely a good watch.

Watching it,i must say if you are interested to see something special, should go for it. I personally loved the camera work and acting of each and every character, the characters are perfectly portrayed. About the subject it's more of a person's ethics and moral ground clashing with the new generation. Rest of the review? you decide yourself
Cinemawala, a Bengali movie by Kaushik Gangopadhyay, director well known for his brilliant cinema and he lived more than his expectation this time. After Rituparno Ghosh he is undoubtedly the best.
If you describe this movie about struggling single screen theaters or clash between father and son, it will be totally wrong, rather take it a struggle by a intellectual person for this moral values and ethics with which the old man lived his entire life. It is a complete blend of emotions, morals, modern strife for living and believe me it will leave you with something to think about..
what a acting by Paran Bandhopadhyay as cinemawala and Arun Guhathakurta as Hori.. Just Exceptional can't say in words!!! locations of sub urban Bengal is captured rightfully.
And one think Please don't watch this movie in pirated DVD Or torrent download, because it will be insult to such a good cinema.
