Opportunities missed by a country mile...

This could have been an excellent movie, but from the first scene (post-apocalypse 2067, with heavy road traffic visible in the background) it was obvious this was going to stink. The budget was so low it couldn't even stretch to hiring actors, the universally poor performances seemingly delivered by unwitting members of the public who sounded like they were reading from a shopping list. To sum up how poor this film is, when I logged on to this site, I watched the trailer for the film. It was preceded by an ad for Ferrero Rocher which was infinitely more interesting than the entire film itself. This could have been a really good effort, even with the obviously non-existent budget, but instead it was poorly written, poorly acted, a poorly executed exercise in putting together every cliché in the genre in the least entertaining way possible. All I can really say about spoilers is this: if you actually watch this film, you'll have spoiled your evening when you could have been doing something much more interesting, like watching paint dry.

    What did I watch!?

The only good thing about this project(?) is that it appears to give employment to people who would normally be cashing an unemployment cheque. You couldn't really call it a film as it's so terrible with it's attempt at cheesy one liners. The acting is so bad I'd swear this was their first attempt at it if I hadn't checked their previous history. Clearly Netflix is padding out their library with rubbish like this. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss.

    The acting sucks

Great concept - but the acting! It sucks like no other movie pretending to be mature. Or any other movie. The characters speak to themselves to underline the storyline. Lines are written as out of a schoolplay. Action is carried out with panting and don't-show-tell teenager one-liners. This movie could have been good.

I think many of the reviews are a bit harsh for this one....

"Stasis" is a very low budgeted film with mostly actors with limited experience. Because of this, I tend to cut the movie some slack. Sadly, many reviewers have savaged the picture and have created the impression "Stasis" is horrible...which it isn't. It has some clever ideas and works provided you aren't expecting what you'd see in a $200,000,000 space epic!

The story begins in the hellish future. Things are awful and most of the people died as a result of wars. Now a totalitarian regime is in power and a small group of radicals are trying to undo this by manipulating time. Using volunteers, they send folks back in time in order to prevent this awful future from ever taking place.

Some of the acting is a bit weak, but again this is a cheaply made film and they gotta learn somewhere. My feeling is if you don't mind a few rough spots, give it a watch. It's now streaming on Netflix.

    Swing and a miss

I've seen some terrible movies but this....there are no words. Actors only begin to seem comfortable in their skins at the end of the movie. Plot was good in theory (if you ignore the whole time travel paradox) but missed the mark, left it open to a sequel that I doubt will ever happen. Not much else to say, sorry it's terrible.

      [first lines]

Future Seattle: [narrating] Seven billion people were killed in the last Great War. Not all at once, though. It takes time to wipe out an entire species. We are the survivors. Some say we were the lucky ones. But when I was a kid, my mother used to tell me stories about what life was like back then, before the radiation, before the plague, before the drought. At first, I didn't believe her. It all sounded too good to be true, like some sort of crazy fairy tale that spun horribly out of control. Now that there only are few of us left, something has become clear to me... We have a choice. We can either carve out a new future for ourselves on this tombstone of a dying planet, or go back to that fairy tale. And try again.
