This started out with a decent idea, although not quite original. A bachelor party going out of control. You wonder who will be dead when they wake up, bc you know something has to go wrong. The problem is, the main guy you are supposed to like is not very likeable. He is a stick in the mud, and mad at everyone. Why? Who knows! Its a bachelor party. 2 or 3 are over the top generic characters, and there is obviously something between one of them and the main guy, but again, who knows what happened between them or why the main guy does not like him. It doesn't really say why. The hunk guy is always nice to him, so it is a weird dynamic. Then one of them does indeed dissappear, and this is where it goes from a decent B movie to just a weird movie that makes no sense. Nothing is explained too well, and of course they divide up and then split up yet again into even smaller groups, bc you have to do that in scary movies. "Hey, let me go off on my own in this weird strip club and disappear behind this door without anyone being able to check on me". Then it gets trippy and all artistic, just to do it. Doesn't make it any better, just even harder to follow. This movie can't decide if it is a scary movie, a time loop movie, or a psychological thriller. It is all of them and none of them. A good ending could have saved this, but I still have no idea what happened in the end. 4 is generous, but it starts out well enough to get the extra star from me, and the acting isnt bad. It is the script and writing that makes it suffer.
I was scared of a screw in the wall. Like, really scared. Every shot was filled with tension. Beautiful looks. Great sounds. It was so much fun!
At first this looked like nice clean fun at a bachelor party. Then it got weird. Almost David Lynch weird- with some jibberish language via "Twin Peaks" but not as successful. Too bad, it had potential.
I was not impressed by this thriller.it starts with a groovy bachelor party, with loads of beverage, drugs and prostitutes.then one after the other of the partytakers dissapears,in a voodoo like frenzy of a spiral of chemical desolutions.
the story is weak, plot and timeline are pennyless, the soundproduct are far from perfect.though all this negativism, some of the actng are good, also parts of the photgraphic artistery are splendid.but im sad to say, this is not a rewatch for me.
This film takes a trippy artistic approach of life existing on a "spiral" that doesn't live up to the promise of what could have been. Standard boring characters that tend to exist only in bachelor party movies doesn't help the film move along, make better sense, or any care/concern for the characters. And to keep their artistic indie credit, the film ends with a non-answer to what is happening without much to offer, so the past 90 minutes feels even more a waste of time. Sad film that can't decide what it should have done sort of becomes a collage of what is expected in a film like this. Boring ultimately.
