Emily in Paris season 4 has officially come to an end with the release of part 2 on Sept. 12. Once again, the season finds Emily bumbling through professional and personal woes, but she does so with a bubbly spirit, a great fashion sense, and a catch soundtrack to back her up! And thankfully, there's a new Mindy original in season 4 part 2 for all of us to obsess over.
In the season 4 finale, Mindy joins Emily in Rome and hops on a piano in the piazza to play on an original song she has been writing. When the song goes viral online thanks to a tourist's video, Emily later names the song "Beautiful Ruins," and that's really what the song is: beautiful! Ashley Park couldn't be more talented, and it's so exciting that she sings another original song for the series.

Lionsgate has released the first-ever clip from The Strangers reboot, featuring a mysterious visitor stalking a young woman in a cabin. The Strangers: Chapter 1 is a complete reboot of the 2008 film, with a new cast and director, Renny Harlin. It will be the beginning of a brand-new trilogy. Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch makes her high-budget horror film debut in the reboot, and Lionsgate plans to expand the world and tell a character-driven storyline across the three films. #StrangersReboot

Lionsgate shared the clip on YouTube following its reveal at this year's New York Comic Con, depicting a young woman, played by Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch, sitting alone in a cabin when she hears a knock on her door, only to get no response when she confronts the person, implying that they have visited her before.

Earlier this year, it was announced that New Line Cinema had come out the winner in a bidding war over the haunted house project Occupant, which would be based on a 39-page short story by new writer Victor Sweetser. Now that the writers strike has come to an end, The Hollywood Reporter has discovered that New Line Cinema and producer Zach Cregger, the writer/director of last year’s Barbarian (watch it Here), have found the writer who will flesh Sweetser’s story out into a screenplay: Blair Butler, a former writer and on-air personality for shows like Attack of the Show who has gone on to work on several genre films. Her previous writing credits include The Invitation (the vampire movie that starred Nathalie Emmanuel), Polaroid, and Hell Fest. Butler was also a producer on the Marvel-inspired TV series Helstrom.
The Occupant purchase was part of Cregger’s year-long winning streak.

We might be entering the dog days of summer but Hulu isn’t slowing down. The streamer’s list of new releases for August 2023 is a pretty impressive collection of content.
The biggest Hulu original this month is season 3 of true crime comedy Only Murders in the Building on Aug. 8. This time around Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd are joining the already-stacked cast that features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. This season’s central murder appears to take place at a theater (outside the building) but I think we’ll let it slide.
That’s far from the only worthwhile original in August as Aug. 2 sees the premiere of the third and final season of superb comedy Reservation Dogs. That will be followed by South Korean sci-fi series Moving on Aug. 9, Solar Opposites season 4 on Aug. 14, and A Murder at the End of the World on Aug. 29. Of course,...

Sony is making moves on its adaptation of the 2020 novel Home Before Dark, adding filmmaker Patrick Brice to direct from a script by Blair Butler. 21 Laps, the Shawn Levy-led production banner behind Stranger Things and The Adam Project, is producing.
The plot of the film, which is in early development, is being kept under wraps, though Riley Sager’s book is centered on a young woman, Maggie, whose family fled their Victorian home 25 years earlier in an event that inspired her father to pen a best-selling nonfiction book claiming they experienced a haunting. Maggie, now an adult, doesn’t remember those events and doesn’t believe her father’s book. But when she inherits the old family home after her father’s death, she starts to question if there’s more to the house than she believed.

Carrie Underwood has an amazing track record on Country Music Television. She has collected 20 trophies from the Cmt Music Awards, including seven for Video of the Year, more than any other artist in the awards’ history. Can she do it again? This time she’s nominated for “Drinking Alone,” which she certainly won’t be doing if she extends her record. Watch her video above, and visit our predictions center to place your bets.
Underwood previously won for “Before He Cheats” (2007), “Cowboy Casanova” (2010), “Good Girl” (2012), “Blown Away” (2013), “See You Again” (2014), “Something in the Water” (2015) and “Cry Pretty” (2019). That makes her the defending champion in the category, but that doesn’t mean she’s unbeatable. She has also lost the award seven times, though a couple of those times she actually lost to herself.

Producers of the 2020 Cmt Music Awards belatedly unveiled the list of nominees for the long-postponed telecast, and among the leading contenders, there was a six-way tie for first. Three nominations apiece went to Dan + Shay, Ashley McBryde, Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt.
Artists with two nominations each are Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Blanco Brown, Little Big Town, Old Dominion and the Chicks.
Initial nominations for the top prize, video of the year, are always unusually crowded, as the Cmt Awards start with a list of 14 nominees that’ll be whittled down to five prior to the Oct. 21 telecast. The first round of fan voting among those 14 finalists will stop on Oct. 12 at noon, with the whittled down list of five finalists announced shortly after that, as voting reopens. The other categories mostly have a more wieldy six nominations from the get-go.

Keith Urban cranks up and sings an ode to a free spirit in his new song “Tumbleweed,” released on Friday. It’s Urban’s latest offering from the forthcoming album The Speed of Now Part 1, due out September 18th.
“Tumbleweed” — written by the Cadillac Three’s Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason, with James McNair — kicks off in familiar Urban fashion, piling its components on top of a funky six-string banjo riff played by the ace guitarist. Jessica M. Thompson, who directed the critically acclaimed “The Light of the Moon,” is set to helm the horror-thriller “The Bride” for Screen Gems, sources tell Variety.
Blair Butler wrote the original script with revisions by Thompson. Emile Gladstone, behind the horror hit “The Curse of La Llorona,” is producing the movie.
The story follows a young woman who attends a lavish destination wedding, unaware of the horrors that await.
“The Light of the Moon” was Thompson’s feature debut; she also wrote, edited and produced the pic. The film stars Stephanie Beatriz as a successful New York City architect who struggles to regain intimacy and control in her life after an event turns her world upside down. The movie won the audience award for best narrative feature at the 2017 SXSW Festival, putting her on the radar of every studio in town.

Josh Trank’s comeback vehicle Capone was supposed to rehabilitate a career that had come dangerously close to self-destruction with his involvement in the infamous Fantastic Four reboot, but all anybody seemed to want to ask him about were the behind-the-scenes rumors that plagued the comic book adaptation instead of the crime biopic he was trying to promote.
With all of the focus placed on either Trank’s past transgressions or the latest in a long line of bizarre Tom Hardy accents, it was probably for the best that the Coronovirus pandemic saw the movie head straight for a digital release instead of embarking on a theatrical run, where Capone went on to score record numbers for a Vertical Entertainment production.
While reviews haven’t been particularly enthusiastic, and Trank admitted that he isn’t surprised people don’t like the movie, the curiosity factor surrounding Capone has seen it...

Keith Urban teams up with Florida Georgia Line producer Joey Moi for his new song “Polaroid,” a breezy, evocative jam that, like “The Fighter,” stands as one of Urban’s more electronic-focused musical adventures.
Its accompanying music video is mesmerizing, utilizing a clever filmmaking approach to put the singer-guitarist in the middle of the action at a backyard pool party. Couples kiss, barbecues flame out of control, and some guy naturally falls into the water, all captured in a freeze-frame technique.

Say what you will about Lars Klevberg’s retro-techno supernatural thriller Polaroid, but there’s no denying it’s got the perfect title. Polaroid. We have a trailer for this movie Polaroid for you to check out that is pretty creepy. The film was made back in 2017, which is usually a bad sign for a movie to take so long to come to theaters, but I guess Weinstein was a part of it somehow, and it got thrown on the back burner of the dumpster fire that was his life. So we can give it a fair shake. Here’s a quick rundown of the film:
High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the mysterious Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end.
So, yeah. Check out the trailer below, and let us know if Polaroid looks good enough to help you usher in the Halloween season when it hits theaters on September 17th.

"I think you're all in danger." Vertical Entertainment has released a brand new trailer for the horror film Polaroid, director by Norwegian filmmaker Lars Klevberg. This was originally set to open in August of 2017, but the film got caught up in all the Weinstein chaos, and never got a release. Now it's set to open this year all around the world, finally a chance for it to hit theaters. The story is about a high schooler who finds an old Polaroid camera, and anyone who gets their picture taken by it will die in a "violent and tragic death." That creepy creature thing / dude that shows up looks terrifying. The film stars Kathryn Prescott, Mitch Pileggi, Grace Zabriskie, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana, Madelaine Petsch and Javier Botet. This is based on the horror short Polaroid also from director Lars Klevberg. The new trailer is still mostly unsettling,...

Well, here’s a conundrum: die-hard devotees of any aging franchise are the audience most likely to embrace each new resurrection. But in the case of the 31-year-old “Child’s Play” series, many fans have been outraged by the fact that creator Don Mancini and voice-of-Chucky Brad Dourif were conspicuously replaced for the new reboot.
Despite the good faith efforts of director Lars Klevberg (“Polaroid”) and writer Tyler Burton Smith, it’s unlikely that this entry will seduce those who loyally followed all seven of Mancini’s previous “Chucky” movies. Indeed, they may want to wait until Mancini’s own, upcoming TV version is released next year. But after 2004’s “Seed of Chucky,” which devolved into go-for-broke absurdity — as did two straight-to-dvd installments that followed — it has to be acknowledged that even sociopathic toys could use an occasional gush of new blood.

The knife-wielding Chucky doll is updated for the digital era in a horror reboot that shrewdly skewers western consumerism
