    A Well Crafted Tragedy

First off, I should preface by saying, if people can't tell the difference between Super16mm and digital to be made to look like S16mm...you're an idiot and shouldn't be involved in movies.

This is the quintessential reason why you shoot on film. A fantastic nostalgic view of two sisters who commit petty crimes to add excitement into their lives. Is there a reason explained here? Probably in a bigger movie, in which case, as a short...it fails that. BUT...can we just say, they're free spirited girls who today's world have created? Devoid of barriers. Sure, why not. Because it's expertly crafted.

The story starts with two sisters who shoplift. They don't seem malicious only bored. They drive a muscle car (a staple of 70's cinema) and enjoy the spoils of their crime. Do they have a direction in life? Nope. They enable each other horribly. And then they meet a drifter. A real bad guy, but a charming one. He sees that the two are reckless and carefree and decides to party with them. This leads to a plan to knock off a store for money.

The girls aren't likable at all which makes it even more amazing that the director gives you empathy. Sisterly love is deep and cruel. They finish your sentences or cause you to do stupid things. Unfortunately, sometimes you will pay for the bad behavior somewhere in life. Solid project!
