Production on “Dexter: Resurrection” is set to begin in January with a planned debut in the summer. No specific plot details are available for “Resurrection,” but the series will serve as a direct followup to “New Blood.”
In addition to his role in “Dexter,” Remar is known for his work in shows like “Sex and the City” and “City on a Hill.

Exclusive: NBC’s Chicago Fire has cast KaDee Strickland for a recurring role in Season 13. The new season begins Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on NBC and next day on Peacock.
She will portray Monica Pascal, the new Fire Chief Dom Pascal’s (Dermot Mulroney) estranged wife. As Deadline reported in July, Mulroney joined the popular firefighter drama as Boden’s (Eamonn Walker) successor following his exit as a series regular in the Season 12 finale.
Before Boden was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department, he had chosen Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) as his successor. The introduction of Dom Pascal would interfere with that plan, and Eigenberg earlier this month shared insight with Deadline as to why Herrmann may pass on the opportunity.

After a nine-year revival, Sony’s TriStar Television label, which was behind such series as The Afterparty, is being phased out again. Its two top executives, EVP Jennifer Turner, who ran the unit for the past two and a half years, and SVP Nicole Norwood, will be departing the studio. TriStar Television has no current series on the air. Its development slate will be taken over by Sony Pictures Television’s drama development team.
This marks the second such move of centralizing development under Katherine Pope since she became President of Sony Pictures TV in July 2022. The TV studio’s other boutique label, Gemstone, was folded into Spt in November 2022.

The latest involves the original Law & Order, and this one won't go down well with a lot of fans.
TVLine reports that Jeffrey Donovan is stepping away from the NBC procedural.
While details are being kept under wraps, the outlet states the two sides parted ways due to creative differences.

According to TVLine, who was first to report the news, producers are already on the search for a new series regular. The outlet reports sources claim the two parted ways due to creative differences.
Donovan joined the cast in 2021, portraying Detective Cosgrove in Seasons 21 and 22 of the series revival. Cosgrove, a junior detective, joined the NYPD team as the new partner of Det. Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson). “Frank is a tough-as-nails detective that seeks justice by whatever means necessary. The Hulk introduced his mysterious son to the MCU in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, but this stirred confusion regarding Skaar's unusual haircut. While rights issues have stopped Marvel Studios from developing a solo Hulk movie since 2008's The Incredible Hulk, the McU's Phase 4 introduced new Hulk-related characters to the franchise. While Emil Blonsky, a.k.a. Abomination, returned in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Tatiana Maslany debuted as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner's cousin, in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The forthcoming Law & Order revival has added a Burn Notice alum to its ranks.
Jeffrey Donovan has joined the cast of the NBC series as a New York Police Department detective, reports Deadline.
No further details have been revealed about Donovan's character.
NBC officially picked up a 21st season of Law & Order earlier this year -- a decade after it was initially canceled.
The straight-to-series pickup was unsurprising, especially when you consider Svu and Organized Crime have both solidified themselves as strong ratings performers on Thursdays.

Superman & Lois has officially found its Lana Lang in Emmanuelle Chriqui.
The CW’s developing Supergirl spinoff, Superman & Lois, has cast Canadian actress Chriqui as a series regular, set to play the classic Superman comic book presence and frequent live-action-adapted character for the small screen Arrowverse shows, reports Deadline. Jonathan Igla has the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his sights. Per multiple reports, the “Mad Men” alum will serve as writer and executive producer for “Hawkeye,” which will premiere on Disney+ in late 2021.
“Hawkeye” won’t be the first time Igla has collaborated with an McU veteran. Igla served as a supervising producer and writer on Facebook Watch’s drama, “Sorry for Your Loss,” which stars Elizabeth Olson — aka Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the McU.
In the new series, Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, the bow-wielding hero who appeared in a handful of prior McU films. The character had a dark arc in “Avengers: Endgame” earlier in the year, where he became a merciless vigilante before eventually reuniting with the survivors of his superpowered team. The upcoming “Hawkeye” series will follow the titular protagonist as he trains a young Kate Bishop, another...

FX Network’s “American Horror Story” returns for a ninth season next month, and promos for the next chapter of the anticipated series, dubbed ‘Ahs 1984,’ have been airing frequently across cable television throughout August. In the short yet effective spot (see below), the Motels’ melancholic, moody “Suddenly Last Summer” plays as aerial footage of an idyllic summer camp scene from the 1980s at fictional ‘Camp Redwood’ plays out, until things take a darker turn, quickly.
“The slightly haunting vibe of the song, and the connotation of the unexpected implied by the lyric, made it a perfect fit for the campaign,” Carol Weiler an Evp at FX Network, tells Variety.
The song’s publisher echoes the sentiment.
“It’s a great fit for the [Ahs] spot,” says Scott Cresto, Reservoir’s Evp of synchronization and marketing. “The song is firmly placed in the ‘80s, and in this particular case, there is no voiceover in the promo,...
