    Worth it

I see alot of tens here and while I like the show, I don't think it's a 10, a solid 8 though. The host is funny and well read, not just in film, I see a lot of hidden pop culture references stuck in there and he doesn't hit you over the head with them. I like the interviews he does at events but they are too few and far between. I respect that he upscales a lot of the films making them sharper and easier to watch ( my 50 inch thanks him too) . I also like that he's just him, not some crummy vampire or barely hairy werewolf! Over all the show is polished in a way that on first glance, might make you think this is a armature production but after careful observation you can see this is intentional. Love the look. Overall, easy to watch, safe for kids ( there can be nudity) and might even make you think.

Surprisingly, a "retro" show that has just the right amount of retro.

All of these hosted shows seem kind of retro to me. Most of them suffer from bad sound at the least and at the worst bad everything. It bears note that there is a similar show that has a high degree of technical sophistication but it's missing one thing, heart. This show has that very REAL feel to it. You can tell this is a calling for the host, not just some job. There is nothing fake about this guy. He knows a great deal about the movies and works on films himself. The host is here to share his ample knowledge on the subject and the jokes ( unlike some shows ) are never forced. The host is genuinely funny and feels like someone you'd like to hang out with for 2 hours a week and watch a movie.

A good show, lame intro I know...

I don't normally do reviews but my son was watching this and I thought I'd check it out. Apparently this is a reboot of a old 60 show or in that style at least. I never saw the original so I have no idea how close it is. What I do know is that it's funny. Not the over the top kind of humor you might expect but it has some real and genuine humor delivered in a very natural style. I'm guessing the guy does a lot of improv, there's a script but it looks like he ignores it regularly. People have noted he doesn't play the obvious films, which it to say while he shows the classics, he also showing some fairly new films and at least one brand new original. A Brand New Original. That's what we have here in this show. An Original with zero budget and fairly high standards. No it's not perfect but then, shows back then weren't.

Has the "feel" of the original show.

Like so many kids in the SF bay area, I grew with Bob Wilkins on Creature Features on channel 2. There are other shows that pretend to be connected to that show but only this Creature Features has the feel and the love for movies that Bob did. Old Movies, new movies, good bad and "other", they're all here. Along with the big yellow rocking chair and the skull and candle The new host Al Omega (The Alpha and Omega of all things Horror and Sci-fi) brings a dry wit and a slightly more adult kind of humor. No rubber chickens here! Open and personable, he also makes the rounds at the conventions interview star and fan alike.

WOW! Not your average horror show.

I spent a lot of time as a kid in front of the TV watching guys like the Ghoul etc. And I like Svenghoulie but this show is different. While it has the goofs and errors you might see in any low budget internet show, you start to get the sense that these are left in as a homage to the live TV shows of yesteryear. The show is filmed in 6K and that seems to be a high mark only this show has attained. The host feels a bit like your old uncle that might crack a slightly off color joke at a family gathering. And while there is obviously a script, he isn't afraid to adlib or go off script. As he says, bad movies and worse jokes, I love'em!
