30 years since Gregor Jordan's timeless Two Hands was released, how the storytelling of Sydney's underworld digressed so much in this period of time?
Sure, The Combination Redemption depicts the tribal suburban divide in Western Sydney.
But throughout it's a very predicable script,
and as for the dialogue, although sometimes It's funny and is real to life, its way over the top!! (more swearing isn't always better).
Ok, It's another film written and staring Basha for Australia's Lebanese communities.
But all this movie did was make me frustrated!
Sydney has everything, it can be it's own character in feature films, from its cultural diversity that is evident just by driving from suburb to suburb throughout Sydney, combined with its unforgettable landmark and beaches, the city can go from the best place on earth, to being by far the most dangerous place in Australia.
Sydney's identity is a perfect backdrop for a unique well scripted/directed crime feature, and Sydney needs an acclaimed crime feature, unfortunately The Combination Redemption isn't it.
I really loved this movie, if you want to write a good tradegy, than family is one of the most important things you must have on your mind. Family is the smallest unit of society. And in this unit is called " Combination Redemption" Staring the gorgeous Mr George Basha as (Johnny Morkos) whom is so convincing. A valnerble family who have a vandetta with drug dealers...Tony Ryan was great and unnerving! Beautifully shot carefully crafted and takes total ownership of a very intense view of family and crime...Great cultural background music. ..I really enjoy watching it every time. Great work Mr George Basha. Looking forward to many more keep up the good work.
A very enjoyable film , which deals with great issues we deal with in society . It doesn't shy away from getting real and up in your face . Enjoyed it and highly recommend it . Actors were great and very real and believable . It's a film that needs to be seeing and I'm sure there will be audiences who can't handle what is said or what fits into their real world and will attack a film like this . Great Australian film right up there with the best.
This movie is soo cringy to watch, script sucks soo bad its actually hilarious and the acting makes it even worse.
Not too bad!
Similar themes to the first movie... you'll probably appreciate it more if you've grown up around Western Sydney... it's a similar style to the new Romper Stomper tv series... and George Basha's other productions so if you've liked them - you'll like this too!
