Fantastic, family, fun, funny, cute and really cool.
A purebred puppy participates in a singing competition on TV and ends up separated from her owner by an opportunistic kennel employee.
Stuffed with artistic references that most are unaware of, cute, with little animals that move their mouths when talking, however more of the same when it comes to the producer, Air Bub entertainment, less interesting than the equally cute "Bub: O Cão Amigo" from the same producer...

This is my 8 year olds favorite, has been for a while now. She sings along and quotes the movie as it plays. A dog is caught by the dog catcher and somehow escapes and gets on a American Idol type show.
Netflix has all the sequels and IMDB tv has this one, the original.

I am not going to lie when I say this. I once had some admiration for this film, but after seeing the last two sequels after the first sequel(and looking back at the original today),I felt as though my eyes were going to decay like a rotten apple. Robert Vince, who was not complete garbage back when he produced the original Air Bud and Air Buddies series, has apparently ruined this original of the entire Pup Star series with the sequels Pup Star World Tour and Puppy Star Christmas in a way that I won't make this review very long with. As a result, Pup Star has now been officially banned from my library of digital purchase streaming media as well as other future productions from Air Bud Entertainment such a Pup Academy.
There isn't a singular reason why you should waste your precious 80 years of life on this movie. I got this movie on a DVD at the library, and boy oh boy do I regret it. I didn't spend ANYTHING on this movie, and I already feel as if I drastically overpaid. My sister is an addict for dog movies and dogs in general, but this addiction has only boosted my feeling of insurmountable annoyance at this movie. I am honestly convinced that even the CGI of Skibidi Toilet looks impressive compared to this. If I could praise this movie for one thing, though, it would be the fact that the Mexican dog says, "big and easy." Don't even bother asking why that's funny to me.
I know what you're going to say. "This movie is crap!" But Air bud Entertainment is so underrated it's not funny. I discovered this on Netflix and now I can't stop watching this lol. Unique plot, family friendly, and TALKING DOGS!
