The doors to the Big Brother 27 house officially opened on July 10 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt. While the identities of the 16 players were previously announced by CBS, a "mystery houseguest" was also teased on social media and by host Julie Chen Moonves, who called the person "very polarizing." Dee Bradley Baker will make his return to Legends of The Hidden Temple, more than 20 years since the original series’ first run. Baker is set to reprise his role as the voice of Olmec in the upcoming reboot for The CW.

The reimagining of the popular ’90s show hails from Stone & Company, which produced the original series that ran on Nickelodeon for three seasons between 1993-1995. Set to debut October 10 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt on The CW, the adult version will preserve many of the original show elements including Moat Crossings, The Steps of Knowledge and the Temple Run as well as the team names such as Purple Parrots, Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, Red Jaguars, Silver Snakes and Green Monkeys.

Dee Bradley Baker will reprise his role as the voice of Olmec, the large animatronic talking head, on The CW’s reboot of “Legends of the Hidden Temple.”

“When we asked Dee Bradley Baker to return as the one and only Olmec, our giant talking stone head, and he said, ‘Let’s Rock,’ that was all I had to hear… Olmec lives!” executive producer Scott Stone said in a statement.

Based on the Nickelodeon game show created by Stone, David G. Stanley and Stephen R. Brown, “Legends of the Hidden Temple” involves four teams competing in various obstacle course challenges in a mysterious jungle for a grand prize. The CW reboot will preserve fan-favorite elements of the original, including the “Olmec,” the “Moat Crossings,” “The Steps of Knowledge” and the “Temple Run.”

Olmec, being a fan favorite of the series, brings an integral character to the show as voiced and puppeteered by Baker. As previously announced, writer, producer, actor and comedian Cristela Alonzo is set to host the CW series. “Legends of the Hidden Temple” will premiere Sunday, Oct. 10 (8:00-9:00 Pst).

The CW is getting a head start on announcing when fans can expect its fall schedule to get underway.

The Flash and Riverdale are the last shows back, returning Tuesday, November 16, for what the network describes as five-episode fall events.

Both Riverdale and The Flash will be airing their current seasons for another few months yet, so the move makes sense.

For the first time in the network's history, the network will be programming Saturdays with unscripted offerings.

Sunday will be home to the Legends of the Hidden Temple reboot, as well as the stateside adaptation of Killer Camp.

Nancy Drew, which is relocating to Fridays, will return Friday, October 8.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman move to Wednesdays when they debut their new seasons Wednesday, October 13.

Both shows are currently airing Sundays.

Legacies returns Thursday, October 14, and will be joined by Walker two weeks later.

Newly launched Capacitor Studios is fast-tracking development of a television/streaming series with Cosmic Kids, the YouTube channel whose yoga and meditation exercises have become exceedingly popular with parents of small children during the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Variety has learned that the new project, a mix of live action and animation, will “take kids on exciting yoga adventures and help them overcome challenges through movement and mindfulness.” Cosmic Kids Yoga creator and host Jaime Amor will anchor the series alongside animated characters and an interactive set.

Nickelodeon has renewed its “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” reboot for a second season, the network announced Tuesday, despite the show’s miniseries label.

The news came as part of Nickelodeon’s 2020 programming slate announcement, which also included the new action-adventure series “The Astronauts,” a new “Henry Danger” spinoff and a live-action “Loud House” holiday movie set to air in December.

Among the other shows renewed for the 2020-21 season are “All That” (additional 10-episode order for Season 1), the “Loud House” spinoff “The Casagrandes,” “Blue’s Clues & You,” “Paw Patrol,” “Blaze and the Monster Machines,” “Bubble Guppies” and the holiday competition series “Top Elf.”

The new projects join previously announced series “Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan” and the “SpongeBob SquarePants” prequel “Kamp Koral.”

Quibi is using its first-ever TV commercial to answer the question, “What’s a ‘Quibi’?”

Quibi (short for “Quick Bites”) is a new streaming service that will offer short-form original series, with episodes that run 10 minutes or less. Per Variety, the service will offer three types of content: movies that are broken into “chapters,” unscripted series and “Daily Essentials,” which will cover news, sports, weather and talk shows.

Quibi’s April 6 launch is inching closer, and the mobile short-form streaming service made an aggressive sales pitch Wednesday morning at CES in Las Vegas.

The upcoming platform, created by longtime Hollywood and Silicon Valley power players Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, has raised plenty of eyebrows since its unveiling in 2018, and not just because the streaming service will only work on mobile devices. Episodes of each Quibi series will run under 10 minutes, and the platform, short for “quick bites,” has tapped a dizzying array of high-profile actors, content creators, and major companies to create or invest in the service. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will executive produce “Trill League,” an animated black superhero show for Quibi, the upcoming mobile-only streaming service from Jeffrey Katzenberg. Quibi announced the new show on Tuesday morning.

“Trill League,” according to Quibi’s release, is a league of black superheroes “tasked with saving the world from monsters, super villains and haters of all kinds” in an “era of social injustice and internet trolls.”

The show is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Anthony Piper, which meshed the three distinct cultures of comic books, anime and hip-hop. “Trill League” is co-created, written and executive produced by Jameel Saleem and Piper, and is being produced by 3 Arts Entertainment and G-Unit Television in association with Lionsgate Television.

The ’90s continue to take over pop culture as Quibi revealed today that they are reimagining Nickelodeon’s iconic game show Legends of the Hidden Temple.

From the Shrine of the Silver Monkey to scary Temple Guards, Quibi has set a revival of the kids game show from the ’90s that included teams competing against one another to retrieve “historical artifacts” in a Mayan-themed temple by performing physical challenges and asking trivia questions.

The new iteration will be bigger and better as they take some of the original elements of the show and set them in a scaled-up jungle setting with tougher challenges. This includes the Moat Crossing, the iconic Temple Run and, of course, the talking Olmec statue.

“Legends of the Hidden Temple,” Nickelodeon’s classic adventure game show from the ’90s, is being revived at Quibi, Jeffrey Katzenberg’s upcoming mobile-only streaming service, the company shared on Monday morning.

The show, which was aimed at kid’s during its glory days, is now being revamped to appeal to adults. “Hidden Temple” will still preserve several of its trademark features from the original show, however, including the Moat Crossing, Olmec and the Temple Run.

Instead of being filmed at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida, Quibi is bringing the show to an undisclosed jungle location. The challenges and the prizes are both bigger this time around as well, according to Quibi.

Nickelodeon has found its Maze Master for its upcoming U.S. adaptation of the popular British game show The Crystal Maze. Comedian Adam Conover, best known for his TruTV series Adam Ruins Everything, is set to host the new incarnation of the family game show, which originally premiered three decades ago on the UK’s Channel 4 and remains popular to this day.

In The Crystal Maze, Conover will guide a family team through mental and physical challenges. The sets are immersive and each tied to a specific theme: Aztec, Eastern, Futuristic, and Industrial.
