    the lion roared loudly although

The Singam sequels are superficial cop stories. To enjoy it, you will have to distance yourself from reality. The treatment could be loud and not practically possible, but you get 100% action packed fun. This edition of Singam is no different when it comes to entertainment.

When you are going to bring back a powerful character like Durai Singam, you definitely need a strong and never-heard-before story. It has an interesting core story and Hari has done full justice to the script with an engaging screenplay.

Soori's comedy doesn't work what so ever. In most Hari films the comedy slows the tempo of the film. Though Hari has understood that and reduced the number of comedy scenes, none of the few that were shown in this film attracts you and sometimes even annoys you. The editor does have a major work to do as he has so many scenes to maneuver around than a normal commercial film. Though you laud him for giving us a crisp product, we also need to point out the fact that the final product is not smooth and few scenes get over even before it starts.

Si3 follows the same pattern as its predecessors but it's watchable for Suriya's power-packed performance

Many directors are right now in the trend of making sequels to many blockbusters released in Tamil. Hari's Singam franchise is definitely one of the most important sequels that have clicked among the masses. Adding to its success, Hari's Si3 is the third action flick of his popular cop franchise. Just like its previous versions, Si3 is a fast-paced action masala that again revolves around the super energetic Suriya as Durai Singam the powerful cop from Tamil Nadu. It must be noted that Suriya has kept the true essence of that character even after 7 years of the first Singam's release. The film follows from where it has ended in Singam 2. Hari has made sure that this film has an international appeal by adding an antagonist from Australia. Unfortunately, the film doesn't seem to be properly built in to get reach out globally. In fact, the film has the typical issues from its predecessor Singam 2 and it only seems to be a rehash of that version. We have a big cast who are left with no big scope in the film. Even, the muscularly strong antagonist is not a big threat to our Durai Singam because our hero wins over him in every single threatening moment. Soori's comedy sequences and Shruthi Hassan's scenes are quite similar to the ones of Santhanam and Hansika from Singam 2. They are not able to bring much-needed laughter which is quite disappointing. The lack of logic, the over glorifying scenes, and the superheroic action sequences are just things that are out of the world and Hari's typical style of filmmaking. The glittering effects that he uses to create the heroic effect seem to be overused throughout the film. The flaws in the writing are probably letting down the film's quality. The subplots, the unnecessary comedy tracks, and the not-so-challenging obstacles that Durai Singam faces don't keep the film engaging. Another biggest letdown would be the replacement of Devi Sri Prasad with Harris Jayaraj. Harris Jayaraj has his own style of composing tunes and Singam is probably not his fort. The songs and the background score are just average. The over-electrifying theme used for Suriya is too loud but it justifies his heroism. Despite the disappointing aspects, Si3 stays true to its genre, its initial core idea, and of course its protagonist Suriya. Well, Si3 is out and out a Suriya film. Like their previous collaborations, Hari proved that he can make a tailor-made action film for Suriya's larger-than-life star image. The way he has crafted his character makes us believe that Durai Singam is our very own superhero disguised as a police officer. Technically, Si3 is really grand in every single aspect including the cinematography and the setup. Overall, Si3 follows the same pattern as its predecessors but it's watchable for Suriya's power-packed performance.

S3 is another loud entry into the loudest franchise of India.Watch it if you are a huge fan of such films

Singam 3 (2017): Singam series has the rare feat of being a successful franchise in South India.Directed by Hari and starring Surya as Durai Singam, this series has gained popularity because of high octane action and racy screenplay. But If u ask me I would say that Singam is the loudest movie of India.

Plot: DCP Duraisingam (Suriya), an honest police officer from Tamil Nadu is assigned a case by the Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sathyanarayana (Sarath Babu). He's in charge of the murder of Visakhapatnam police commissioner Ramakrishna (Jayaprakash). Since the film is set in Andhra, Duraisingam beats up some 30 goons in his introductory scene. Through his investigations, Duraisingam comes to know about the illegal transportation of non-biodegradable wastes from Sydney to Vizag by a billionaire Vittal Prasad (Thakur Anoop Singh).

Plus Points: 1)Surya: Surya is the sole reason for the success of Singam series. But I think it would be best if he leave this series aside as he have lot of fans who expect much different movies from him like 24,Vaanaram Aayiram etc..

Minus Points: Hari is one of the few film maker in recent times who always believes that being loud is the only way to shatter box office but Why doesn't he worry about audience ears.

Soori plays a comical police constable Veeram, whose one-liners are pathetic. His portions with Shruti Haasan are cringe-worthy.Sruthi Hasan has no scope for acting in this.Anushka looks too old.Villains are not noteworthy.

No words about that loud and pathetic songs and BGM

So,S3 is another loud entry into the loudest franchise of Indian.Watch it if you are a huge fan of such films.

A hat trick from Director Hari and Surya

The story sets in soon after the title card. The first half an hour was slow. But once the investigation gets intense the movie, like the camera of Priyan moves faster. The last hour an hour before the interval kicked out the dizziness.

Second half has every element to entertain the audience – except a song. When the cat and mouse game begins between Surya and the antagonist there was no time to look back. Everything Surya does get a whistle from the audience. The climax was much predictable one. Hari has left the franchise open again.

Scenes analysis: As mentioned earlier the first half an hour or so was a drag. The item song adds up to the tiresome. A 10 minutes flashback about Surya and Anushka was enforced only for a song – It was predictable. Though few fans (including me) were busy preparing their mind for a boring film, Hari was busy webbing the story around.

Once Surya kicks the one day operation the story kick starts as well. The investigation scenes pull back the audience into the movie. The truth behind the murder of the commissioner was a possible reality. Though the audience knows the true antagonist, Surya was kept unknown throughout the first half (Pity of him). Unlike Singam 2 the interval block gives the Antagonist the upper hand.

After interval the movie travels as a cat and mouse game. The scenes in Australia were predictable with few Hari's touch. The way Surya catches the return flight to India was Goosebumps moment for Singam and Surya fans.

The hacking scenes were great for a movie but only technical team should answer the logic behind it. Each and every move by Surya in the second half brings in whistles. But the last fifteen minutes was a drag the movie again.

There are few emotional dialogues and proud moments as well. Singam plants himself as an Indian as well as a decent human being in every opportunity he gets.

Cast performance: Surya as Dhurai Singam has done an exceptional job. His entry just reveals what he is going to do the entire movie. His expressions in the action scenes, his emotional dialogues and confident walk carve him as a real police officer in the audience's mind. Surya fans will celebrate him throughout the movie for sure.

Anushka Shetty as Kavya was used only for a song and a few scenes. Her screen presence was comparatively less, but has done a good job.

Shruthi Hassan as Vidhya aka Agni impresses in the initial scenes, but once the movie sets in she does feel like a burden. She was introduced along with Surya in the same scene. Her character was predictable in the first half and her actions too in the second half. Off course she has a song to dance with Surya.

Sharat Saxena as Reddy was not that powerful as an antagonist. His physic does threaten but not his actions. Thakur Anoop Singh as Vittal Prasad was a muscular antagonist. He has done a decent job. Though his slang was not understandable at times, he manages impress the audience.

Soori was roped in for comedy track which fails miserably. It slows down the phase of the movie and it didn't create a moment of laughter as well. Robo Shankar who was seen as a comedian so far has got a serious role which he delivers with perfection (But watching his comedies were good rather than a serious police officer).

Krish as Surya's assistant has delivered what was needed for the role. Radhika Sarath Kumar and Sarath Babu Impresses in the fewer frames they appear. All the other characters have done a good job.

Team Technical aspects: Priyan, the man behind the camera has done a great job. His camera has traveled at the same phase as the story. Off course it travels from a continent to continent in seconds. Editing by V.T.Vijayan and T.S.Jay was good as well. They have placed the right scenes at the right time.

Harris Jeyaraj was one of the greatest disappointments I felt. The BGM was OK but not that appealing. Once the words Singam… Singam… fades away the BGM too fades with it. Wifi Wifi was the only line I could remember from the songs. I am sorry sir but that's the truth.

Hari has put in lot of hard works. As I said before many franchise fails after the first movie but Hari still maintain the tempo of Singam. His screenplay was great and crisp. He hooks in the audience till the end of the movie (Except the climax). Though his stories are predictable he makes it exciting.

Negatives: Though the movie was a fast phased and entertaining one there few side-lines as well. The first half an hour sets the story but fails to impress. Shruthi's character feels like a forced one. Once her true identity is revealed she doesn't have anything to do. Soori's comedy track was another forced element. Most of his scenes slow down the movie.

There were many logical loop holes. I am not sure about the hacking part but why all the officers except Surya and his team were double agents? One might feel the same when watching the movie. In the entire police department Surya was the only brainy. All the others wait for him to crack the code. Human bodies were thrown like a cricket ball throughout the movie. Surya is the only man shoots the criminals without failing.

Though the sidelines drag the movie the tight screenplay and Surya's acting will never let you down. The Singam franchise saves itself with another hit for sure. Family audience will love it; if you are a lover of mass entertainer don't miss it. Surya's fans will go crazy.

    Okay but not the best

This movie was okay, not the worst but definitely not the best, I mostly watched this because of Suriya and Anushka Shetty, without them I wouldn't have given it a shot, was disappointed that Anushka wasn't in it as much as I thought she would. But even with that, Suriya/Anushka makes it bearable enough to watch.

Definitely over the top type of movie, it was interesting to see Sydney as one place in the movie, as an Indian-Australian myself.
