Same boring story told a million times. Take a shot everytjme the mom puts her hand on her face. Your gonna be wasted by the end of the movie.
The other reviewer who said it was 'giddy' - I get that.
I'm 113 minutes in to the 124 minutes and getting more pissed off every second. Could have been really good.
No chemistry.
Angsty teenager was the best thing about this movie...
So, the daughter 'Andrea' - a 27 year old actress who has played the lead in many other Hallmark films, is now, we are led to believe a truculent teenager ??? really ? Cant the Hallmark stable of actors/actresses come up with a more age related character ?
Like another reviewer says, there is no chemistry between the leads, though in real life there is a 10 year age difference, but with good acting that shouldn't be an issue. Its an ok film if you don't want to think of anything for a couple of hours.

My wife and I streamed this movie on Amazon. When it finished she said, "That was kind cheesy." Well, even though it is NOT a Hallmark movie it is made pretty much like one. Two single 40-ish people are attracted to each other, there is a falling out, and in the end they mend fences to end up together.
I didn't expect more, just a pleasant evening distraction and it does that. My only real gripe is that the lead actress, Heather McComb as the executive Diane Lawrence, has a very pleasant normal speaking voice but she routinely falls into a very unpleasant "gravelly" delivery ( one reviewer calls it a "frog" voice) that is very annoying and difficult to listen to.
Anyway she is divorced and has two daughters, one is 19 and the other seems to be about 11. An old aunt back in South Carolina passed away and in her will left the house to Diane. With two stipulations, she has to keep the dog "Mr." and has to live in the house for a year.
Diane had visited there when she was younger, even had a serious boyfriend she left behind. Amazingly he is still there, he is still single, he owns a store in town, and he remembers her.
So the movie overall is really about people finding what they really want to do, and is a career more important than a loving relationship? Overall pretty well done. Except for the "gravelly" voice of the main actress.

That was some seriously bad acting. I tend to have a low bar for entertainment, and this was bad even for me.

- TriviaIt's interesting that there suddenly is a brand new tin roof on the house with no mention of it being done, and the woman not having had time to earn any money to do it. [Of course, home improvement loans are readily available, especially with the house as collateral, as it's unlikely there was any existing mortgage on it.]
- GoofsPaul comes to Diane's home to fix semi-broken entrance door after his work. It was afternoon. After he fixed it, she invited him for a dinner. It was still afternoon. But once they are inside, it's suddenly evening as home lights are on as you can see through the windows it's dark outside.
