    Line from George Thorogood song.

Really enjoyed the movie, it held my attention throughout. There was one line in the movie where the character Chad went looking for a place to stay and the exchange between him and his buddy was straight out of a George Thorogood song "House Rent Blues/One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,1977. It went "Can I stay here. Naw man, you know my wife, she's kinda funny. Yeah I know, you funny too. Anybody else notice that?

Refreshingly HONEST when so few movies ARE.

While it moved a bit slow for me, the acting was good and the plot was very interesting and well rounded. I found it very interesting AND ENTERTAINING and a great story, though based on tragedy...It seems the more meaningful stories are. It's a western: doesn't require all the "bells and whistles" of many other types of stories told. Most refreshing and down to earth. Kudos to the author and the screenplay for translating the book to the screen; a challenge within itself!

    Diehl made this movie great.

One of my favorite modern day Cowboy movies ever. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Well written. Diehl knocked it out of the park. This was his signature role.

    Nice story but told badly

It was nice story but the acting (especially Chad) was just bad, as was the directing. Some missteps should have been re-shot. Often times clunky.

And what has Henry doing for the prior 17 years?

    Very good

Good movies make you care about what is happening in the story and to the charecters. This movie succeeds with that at a very high level. The acting, story-telling, shooting, editing and direction are all strong. This is probably the best movie I have seen that I had never before heard of.

    • Trivia
Henry's saddle was built specifically for the movie saddle maker Bob Beecher, of Out West Saddlery in Pagosa Springs, CO. It was "aged" by the movie's writer, Mark Rashid, a rancher and horsemanship clinician, who rode and used the saddle nearly every day over a three year period prior to filming.
    • Goofs
When Jim leaves at the end of the season he opens the gate and then drives through without closing the gate. No ranch hand, even on a dude ranch would open a gate without closing it.
