Gamera: 50th Anniversary

A proof-of-concept short made by the Kadokawa Daiei Studio. I'm still bummed that they never tried to turn this into a feature film. There's a lot of potential for Gamera, people needs more kaiju action.

For Gamera's 50th anniversary, Kadokawa release a short proof-of-concept for a possible new Gamera film. As of 2020 this film has yet to happen and it's a real shame. Gamera may have been created to cash in on Godzilla's success, but the character has since grown out of that distinction. One can only hope renewed interest leads to an eventual Gamera reboot, the giant turtle definitely deserves an opportunity to shine once more!
