Love Exchange

The film had potential, but by packing it with different ideas and subjects, hoping to please everyone in the audience, simply resulted in a weak plot that was at times difficult to follow. The dance routines were a chance to try to make sense of what was happening and to put together all the pieces.

There were ideas to make it a good film. Unfortunately, there were just too many of them! The entire film looked like a sequence of ideas poorly connected. Selecting a few and developing them further would have made it a better film. Soon enough you're lost in a maze with multiple micro stories and characters.

The romance between the lead actors, although predictable, happened too suddenly and without any ground for them to fall in love. This great idea of them living at each other's house in order to understand their different traditions is not followed through and given enough depth and importance. It's simply one of the many ideas among many others.
