Zack Snyder at an event for Sucker Punch (2011)
Allison Crowe's Hallelujah & 9 Other Best Songs From The DC Extended Universe
Zack Snyder at an event for Sucker Punch (2011)
Despite all its thrills and stunning visuals, Zack Snyder's Justice League aka The Snyder Cut had its fair share of emotional moments. Allison Crowe's emotional rendition of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah during the end credits similarly made for a tearjerking sequence. The song has been covered time and again in various films and yet it doesn't seem to have gotten oversaturated.

Even though the film didn't feature any other song in particular and mostly relied on Junkie Xl's score, the DC Extended Universe has relied on a few original singles along with reused tracks that have become synonymous with the franchise's films.

“Scoob!” Is A Surprisingly Weird Scooby Doo Adventure
Mark Wahlberg, Will Forte, Ken Jeong, Frank Welker, Amanda Seyfried, Zac Efron, Gina Rodriguez, and Kiersey Clemons in Scooby! (2020)
For over half a century, Scooby Doo and his friends have been a staple of cartoons, as well as, for a time, in live action adventures on the big screen. Now, the talking dog and pals are back in Scoob!, which is part origin story, part adventure tale (no pun intended). How does the animated canine function in CGI? Well, pretty good, actually. This is a fun, sometimes strange, and even emotionally satisfying movie. What could have been stale and recycled never comes off as such. The film just offers up some good family friendly fun. Especially these days, and at this specific moment, what more can you ask for? The film is a new Scooby Doo adventure, while also functioning as an origin story for the Mystery Inc. group that children of all ages have adored. As a boy, Norville “Shaggy” Rogers (voice of Will Forte) is a lonely kid,...

Melvins’ Buzz Osborne Announces Second Solo LP ‘Gift of Sacrifice’
Buzz Osborne
After fronting the Melvins for more than 30 years and helping create grunge (despite his conflicted feelings on the genre), singer-guitarist Buzz Osborne released his first solo album in 2014. King Buzzo’s This Machine Kills Artists featured heavy acoustic riffs and droney grooves and proved the musical pioneer is still hungry to find new sounds. More than five years later, Osborne has announced his second solo LP.

King Buzzo’s Gift of Sacrifice is out May 15, with an extensive tour behind it. The nine-song album sees Osborne joined by Mr. Bungle bass player Trevor Dunn.

Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart, Ben Foster to Star in William S. Burroughs Film
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart, Ben Foster and Tom Glynn-Carney have signed on to star in an untitled drama about Beat Generation writer William S. Burroughs with Foster making his directorial debut on the project.

The film explores an unusual love triangle between Burroughs, portrayed by Foster; his charismatic, common-law muse, Joan Vollmer, played by Stewart; and a straight-laced American expatriate portrayed Glynn-Carney, who upends their lives to the extreme. Foster will direct from a script he’s co-written with Oren Moverman, based on Burroughs’ early works.

Burroughs, a heroin addict, killed Vollmer in a 1951 shooting accident in Mexico City. He achieved success two years later with his first novel, “Junkie.” He’s best known for his 1959 novel “Naked Lunch.”

Celluloid Dreams has acquired the international sales rights to the project and will be selling it at the Cannes Film Festival, which opens May 14. UTA Independent Film Group will handle sales for the United States and Canada.
