The scenario is a large, luxurious, somewhat rundown vacation home with large grounds near Buenos Aires (Chacabuco is the name of the street). The main characters are father Marcelo and teenage daughter Claudia, with the later addition of Claudia's boyfriend Pipo and Sara, the caretaker of Marcelo's father, who died some time ago and was the owner of the house. Marcelo is starting the process of selling the property; there are real estate agents around, cardboard boxes everywhere and most furniture is covered. Marcelo seems to be in an emotional low and his relation with Claudia is strained, perhaps because of some unexplained resentment on her part.
There are no earthshaking revelations, no explanations except from dialogs. Apart from these we watch fragments of home movies, mostly uncaptioned, which throw some light into the family's past. At the end, as in real life, some pieces of the puzzle are in place but others are missing.
The movie has been assembled by a group of students of the career Design of Image and Sound in the School of Architecture of the University of Buenos Aires, with the collaboration of several people outside the school. It is the first feature film produced by the group, and succeeds in all ways. Direction is smooth and steadily paced, acting is very good and cinematography is outstanding, perhaps with some overuse of unnatural lighting. The short length (61 minutes) fits the tale and avoids redundancy and repetition.
