    Technically inaccurate ...

Drawing without a release with field points to shoot a deer? A "compact bow?" A bb gun? Worsening head injury with each scene? lol

    OK, but not great

It's an OK, movie. I watched via Amazon Prime, so I was only out my time for watching. Worth seeing if you don't have to pay and you don't have anything else to do, or if you want to get out of the 'honey- do' list. A few things I noticed that I couldn't get past.

    1. The tree that fell on the city boy was clean cut and it was supposed to have just fallen. At least attempt to make it look like it fell on it's own.

    2. Out of all the trees in the woods this takes place in, city boy happens to be next to the one that falls. Umm ..... I've got a hard time with this point.

    3. After the tree fell, city boy tried to dig out his leg from under the tree with a rock and a stick, yet he brought a shovel to bury the man he shot. Really?? Just have the hunter dig your leg out from under the tree with the shovel. I guess if he would have done that, it would have been a short movie.

The dialog between the 2 was decent. City life vs. Country life. Growing up in the city vs. Growing up in the country. My beliefs vs.your beliefs. Should the hunter run and risk being shot, and if city boy shoots the hunter then he's stuck under the tree with no one to help in sight. Interesting.

A movie needs to make me believe that the events really happened for me to enjoy it or get something out of it. Because of the 3 points above, my opinion is that the events could have and should have occurred differently. Like I said, it was an OK movie, but it could have been better.

    Hidden Gem

This is one of those movies that suffers from...lack of marketing. Maybe it made the Laemmle rounds, I don't know but if not, it sure should have. It will, of course, scare away a certain class of people who will not want to hear the harsh reality of living in certain cities and their domains. This is also one of those movies that nail the case for story and character both of which are in abundance in this film. (BTW, the tech specs say it was shot on a GH4 which is certainly capable of a much better image; I suspect the filmmakers wanted the look the movie has and I have to agree: I'm not sure brilliant colors would work.) The two main characters have relatively limited experience but are a phenomenal duo here. The twists and turns are well motivated as is the red herring in the character of Rio. Highly recommended if you are in the mood for a gritty well done exchange of viewpoints.

    Not bad at all

There's some great writing and acting on display here - just a shame it's marred somewhat by the ultra-low production values and shoddy sound. Certainly worth a look, if you can tolerate its cheapness.

    Okay for Low Budget Movie

I have to agree with Texan on most counts. I, too, can not figure out why they didn't just take the shovel and dig a hole under Young Tony's foot. If they had at least tried that and hit a big rock it would have been more credible.
