Then it might have made more sense. It goes from little details like throwing a small bit of camouflage over just the rifle's scope (why bother?) to breaking the world's best encryption with a field laptop (WTF?). I, too, was waiting for the inflatable boats to be sunk by mini-gun fire from Apache attack helicopters. They must be using a brand-new armor plated rubber. And what's with those bad guys standing on a porch being picked off one by one by the sniper protagonist when there is a door for them to run thru and take cover? Snipers generally work solo, and for good reason - not in squads. Some were in ghillie suits, but most were not.
Sniper: Ghost Shooter is a very light duty action flick to be watched if nothing better is available.

Snipers are assigned the mission to protect a Georgian gas pipeline from terrorists. Our starring thinks of a security breach and he attempts to chase the mole. Elite snipers Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins) and Richard Miller (Billy Zane) under the command their Colonel (Dennis Haysbert) carry out the assignment, but their snipers being murdered by a ghost shooter who knows their exact location. Little by little things go wrong when betrayal and ambushes take place.
The typical story of commandos of brave special forces with full of fractic action, violence, shootouts, intrigue, twists and turns. This is another entry in the "Sinper" saga that began in 1992 with "Luis Llosa's Sniper" starring Tom Berenguer, Billy Zane. There's suspense enough provided by an intrigue in which the group of snipers is usually betrayed and to find out the real guilty. And, of course, the ordinary drones with missiles pull off the habitual wreak havoc against the islamist enemy. Along the way, the smooth runnings of the operations are swiftly jeopardized by growing dangers, treason, and other shortfalls. Tensions boil as a security breach is suspected and the question is if there're someone working with the enemy on the inside. In the cast repeat actors of the saga as Chad Michael Collins, Dennis Haysbert, and Billy Zane, along with others as Nick Gómez, Ravil Isyanov, Ene Frost and Stephanie Vogt.
The motion picture was uneven but adequately directed by Don Michael Paul, and he would make a similar follow-up: "Sniper: Legacy". He is a good American filmmaker who has made some decent films, and with successes enough. This craftman has directed a number of movies and many of them are sequels. Don Michael Paul is a secondary actor and director, as he has made all kinds of genres with penchant for action movies, such as : " The Scorpion King, Book of Souls" , "Death Race: Anarchy", starring Zach McGowan, " Jarhead 2", "Sniper Legacy", "Lake Placid:Final Chapter", "Bulletproof 2", "Kindergaten cops 2", "Who is your caddy?", "The garden", among others. "Sniper: Ghost shooter" rating: 5,5/10. Acceptable and passable, recommended for enthusiasts of the long series only, and for completists.

Sniper was a good action film. It moved along at a decent pace, played the tension between old hand and up-and-coming newbie well and threw in a fair amount of tension.
In accordance with the law of diminishing returns, this one barely registers. Sure, if you like mindless running around "having a gunfight" every 20 minutes with people taking impossible shots and dying in "throw your arms and legs out" style you'll probably enjoy it.
If you're looking for a half decent plot, characters who are bit more than 2 dimensions and a "twist" that doesn't telegraph its arrival in neon lights then look elsewhere.

Some performances not so good, one or two special effects could be better, quite a bit of corny dialog. Would have been really good if not for those things. Well worth watching as long as you don't take it seriously and you like action movies with lots of shooting and blood. Some reviewers have said some of the things would never happen like that. They probably didn't like Die Hard either.

- GoofsSeveral times a drone fires a Hellfire missile but the resulting explosion resembles a grenade explosion. In reality, a Hellfire explosion has a 'kill radius' of 50 feet (15 meters) and a 'wounding radius' of 65 feet (20 meters).
