Warner Bros. Pictures has recruited veteran distribution executive Sirena Liu as its new general manager, theatrical for China.

Liu joins the Warner fold after a five-year stint as president of Legendary East, where she spearheaded the China office to remarkable box office hauls. Under her leadership, Legendary released five major theatrical titles that collectively generated approximately RMB3 billion ($440 million) in the Middle Kingdom.

Legendary East executive VP of marketing Di Mu was recently elevated to the CEO role.

Liu’s stint at Legendary included shepherding “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” (2024) and “A Minecraft Movie” (2025) to become the highest-grossing imported films in China during their respective years of release. “Godzilla vs. Kong” secured the #2 spot among foreign releases in its year. Her strategic acumen helped Legendary Pictures claim the second position among all Hollywood studios in China’s annual box office in both 2021 and 2024.

Legendary Entertainment has promoted longtime marketing executive Di Mu to CEO of Legendary East, the studio’s China-based promotion and marketing division responsible for overseeing local campaigns for both Legendary titles and select third-party releases. Mu will report directly to Legendary CEO Josh Grode.

“Di Mu has been an invaluable member of Legendary East, playing an integral role in the execution of our local campaigns in China,” Grode said in a statement. “Her knowledge of the market, creativity, and leadership make her the ideal person to lead our next chapter in the region.”

Mu joined Legendary East in 2016 and most recently served as EVP of Marketing. With more than two decades of experience in film marketing and media strategy, she has a reputation as one of China’s more effective champions of Hollywood IP. She has led marketing efforts for 12 Legendary titles in China, with total local box office revenues exceeding $1.34 billion.

Dune producer Legendary Entertainment has appointed Di Mu as CEO of Legendary East, the China-based division that handles promotion, marketing and the release of its titles in the territory.

Mu was previously executive vice president of marketing at Legendary East, which she joined in 2016, and has more than 22 years of experience in film marketing, creative advertising and integrated media strategy. She will report to Legendary CEO Joshua Grode.

Warner Bros. and Legendary unveiled the title for the latest entry in the MonsterVerse franchise today via a brief teaser for the movie.

The footage doesn't really show very much, but this is still a pretty cool way to announce that production is underway - and we do get to hear the King of the Monsters' iconic roar right at the end.

Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have officially announced the title of the sixth Monsterverse movie “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova,” as production kicked off in Queensland, Australia, the companies announced on Friday.

Grant Sputore (“I Am Mother”) is directing the sixth Monsterverse film set to hit theaters on May 26, 2027. “Shang-Chi” writer David Callaham along with “I Am Mother” writer Michael Lloyd Green wrote the current draft of the script.

The film stars Dan Stevens, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O’Connell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Sam Neill, Matthew Modine and Delroy Lindo.

The franchise continues to draw global audiences with 2024’s “Godzilla x Kong” becoming its highest-grossing installment and the highest-grossing “Godzilla” film of all time. The next entry will feature several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.

Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures have officially announced the title of the sixth Monsterverse film: Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. Production is now underway in Queensland, Australia, for a 2027 release.

The announcement follows the global success of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which became the highest-grossing entry in the franchise and the biggest Godzilla film of all time. Released in 2024, the film earned $571.9 million at the global box office, with $196.4 million coming from domestic theaters and $375.5 million from international markets.

Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is the next theatrical feature film in Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise from director Grant Sputore (I Am Mother).

The next MonsterVerse movie has a title. Warner Bros. has officially unveiled the subtitle for its next Godzilla x Kong, which seems to hint at what awaits the fan-favorite Titans in their next big-screen adventure.

The studio has shared an ominous first teaser for Godzilla x Kong, showing a Monarch call center office. The camera pans to one of the desks as the following warning flashes on the computer screen: "[Emergency Alert] – Severe. To Report a Titan Sighting, Call (240) Monarch." If fans respond to Monarch's call to action and dial the number, they will be treated to a recorded message from someone who works for the Monarch Community Support Hotline, asking them to "Press 1 to receive messages from the Monsterverse." The rest of the teaser is dedicated to revealing the official logo for the new movie, with the official title unveiled as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova. Check out the teaser video below.

Thunderbolts* co-writer Eric Pearson has been one of Marvel Studios’ most reliable collaborators the last 15 years.

In 2010, the New York City native enrolled in Marvel Studios’ Writers Program, before cutting his teeth on the majority of the Marvel One-Shots series, including Agent Carter (2013), which served as the catalyst for the 2015-16 ABC television series that housed three Pearson-penned episodes. He then performed uncredited writing on Ant-Man (2017) and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), paving the way for Thor: Ragnarok (2017), his first co-writing credit on an MCU feature film. He proceeded to do some more script-doctoring on Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) until Black Widow (2021) earned him sole writing credit. In between his Marvel work, Pearson also co-wrote Godzilla vs. Kong and Transformers One.

Exclusive: Neon is gearing up to begin production in May on Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, with Takashi Miike set to direct. The thriller will star Shun Oguri, Lily James, and WWE star Liv Morgan (Gionna Daddio).

The film will be a U.S.-Japan co-production, produced by Jeremy Thomas for Recorded Picture Company, Sam Pressman for Pressman Film, Naoaki Kitajima for Nippon TV and Misako Saka for Olm.
