"I Got A Gun" was a track released by Mikee Plastik on the self-titled MEDIAWHORE full-length album, which was pressed and distributed by Pennsylvania-based record label Toxic Shock Records. Half the album was original MEDIAWHORE studio takes, the other half were remixes by various artists of original MEDIAWHORE studio takes. Plastik approached this track altogether different than the other tracks. This was approached more as a collaboration rather than a remix. First, written and recorded by Plastik in the standard 4 piece format. The track's files were then sent over to the legendary industrial music group, Penal Colony, to complete and finalize the track by adding their elements. The finished product was presented by Penal Colony to Mikee Plastik for release on the album. Through this partnership, Plastik was able to link Dee Madden of Penal Colony up with Toxic Shock Records, to not only release a Penal Colony track through "The Fetish of Sound" record compilation, but as an outlet label for Madden to release his solo material.
