The Monster of Mangatiti

Watched this little gem on Netflix. i have seen many a good true movie film , this is up there with the best of the true movie films.Well directed and great acting by everyone involved. They all played their part well. Only sad thing was this was a true movie. You wonder why Heather Walsh the lady prisoner , did not escape earlier , but all is explained well enough throughout the film. Sorry if i have spoiled anything in saying that.

Filmed in New Zealand which looks a beautiful place , so some nice scenery in the film too.Seen many a blockbuster that's been disappointing , this one can teach them how to make a film on fraction of the money of some crash bang wallop so called big films.

A shocking true story experience of one of he victims held prisoner on a vast piece of land. A brave women telling her tale of constant fear and Stockholm syndrome

A victim of kidnapping and sexual abuse narrates this documentary telling her story of fear and helplessness that lasted more than 20 years. Her constant fear finally led her to reveal the insidiousness of her captor in order for her to attempt to live a somewhat normal life.

Can't believe the low scores from people criticising the girl's decisions and actions, rather than critiquing the movie. Its not the greatest film I've seen, but its a documentary for goodness sake.

Presumably the same people would give "Titanic" a low score because the ship sank.

David douel obviously never been in an abusive relationship of any kind(thankfully). The trauma some of these victims go through . Their abusers could literally get them to believe anything. They could know they are going to die if their captor/abusive partner has told them to stand on hot burning coals bare foot.they will do. Fear has conditioned them to be at his whim..fear true fear is an awful thing. Sad that others feed off it for their own entertainment at the detriment of others.putting all that aside great film.
