"Simon" (Dalton Edward Phillips) and "Peg" (Tony Vespe) are two high school nerds who are essentially shunned by all of the girls and bullied by some of the boys. So, to masquerade their loneliness, Peg convinces Simon to create an iPhone app which can trick those around them into thinking they each have a real girlfriend. Yet even though it works to a certain degree at first, when Simon accidentally spills a highly potent energy drink onto his laptop in the process, a young woman named "Lilly" (Kelsey Pribilsky) is created who simply adores him. But when Peg decides to upgrade Lilly's qualities, things rapidly spiral out-of-control. Now rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this film started off in the right direction but took a wrong turn about halfway through and ended with a twist that left me greatly disappointed. That being said, while I strongly recommend the movie "Weird Science" which parallels this film to a certain degree, I cannot do the same for this particular picture, and for that reason I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
The movie has a bad written script: few crucial lines, scenes are delivered to the audience directly through the lines of the characters, whithout any subtle signals in the actions. Also, the director has made a few wrong choices in the way the cameras are placed on the set for most of the scenes, using only 1 or 2 angles. Moreover, the voices of the characters sound as they've been placed after the filming, recorded in the studio. The actors seem bored, tired and uncomfortable with each others and the characters they are playing. The backround music seems to have been downloaded from a cheap website with free :30 secs recordings of some alternative music. The figuration seems to be unaware of what they are supposed to do, and so do the secondary actors after they've said their lines, looking vaguely at the floor. Therefore, dear IMDB, I strongly believe that this movie, which I watched as a joke, should be taken off of IMDB, as it is written that it is a comedy, but the only funny things happening in this joke of a movie are the Retrica filter applied to each scene and the POOR plot twist that made no sense. please
A waste of money and time... do not attempt to watch this rushed garbage... Horrible all around... poor everything. You have to wonder how "so called movies" like this even make it, or are even allowed to be advertised. Sucks cause any rich kiddo can waste our time with crap like this...and that is exactly what this movie is!
Horrible movie that makes absolutely no sense.
Is there a way to give a movie zero stars? Total waste of time. Horrible filming, unbelievable plot. Just No.

This movie is a mockery of the digital arts. It makes the art of Photoshop and hacking falsely look like a cake walk. Also, kids this agree don't develop iPhone apps. The SDK is too expensive and so are the phones. They'd be using Android phones. Yeah, the movie has bad acting, audio mixing, and cinematography, but the worst thing about it is the insult to people who make the world a better place through tech.
