Really not that bad, some people were definitely hating too much

Interesting concept, could've been directed better. Comedy is ok, some scenes could've been cut though. Production is good. Akhil screen presence is good. Acting could've been better. Songs are nice. Action scenes are decent. CGI is a bit weird in some parts of second half. It's a one time watch.

      Full on entertainment

This film's plot is quite unoriginal and over-ambitious but it serves the film well. The best way to enjoy this film is by not focusing on the story and whatnots, even though to an extent it tries to take itself seriously. The 'Jua' is just a substitute of 'plutonium' in the usual end-of-the-world action movie story. Like I said, the film isn't all about the plot, it's more about silly entertainment. The first half is mostly focus on the romance and comedy, which drags on a bit but as soon as they left for Europe, things start to get interesting. I extremely enjoyed the comedy aspect of the film, almost all of the jokes land and are hilarious. It brightened up my somewhat boring day. The humor is well-written as far as I'm concerned. The action scenes are not bad, it's just that they're over-the-top and there's also the case of overusing CGI. The final plane sequence is quite dogdy, the special effects are cheap-looking, they should have gone with a more grounded sequence. The cast performance is okay, Akhil has a long way to go but he does a fairly good job in terms of portraying the usual larger-than-life masala movie hero. Overall the film has a decent entertainment value.

      An Okayish Film

I thought the film was okay. The plot was meh, but the action scenes were kind of interesting. The acting was not good, but it wasn't terrible either. The scenes played out between Akhil and Sayeesha were very dumb, that's maybe why the acting must have come out that way. Akhil's screen presence is really good and he looks really handsome. Cute boy. I watched this for Akhil, and he kind of didn't seem to disappoint. I liked him. But not the movie. The movie is not likeable, but it's not hateable either. 4/10

Just one of those regular tollywood films. All nonsense trying hard to compete with the rest of Indian Cinema

Here comes a story whose main character looks like a tryhard bollywood star. The trailer looked revolting and the movie even more. Terrible vfx, low budget movies, and SAME plot lines make the telugu cinema uncomparable to bollywood. Where bollywood has escalated to heights, tollywood remains delusional on their one hit: baahubali. Baahubali seemed to have grasped the nation's attention for a while and brought light to this south Indian film industry. Yet, movies such as Kick 2, Bruce Lee: The Fighter, and the upcoming Bengal Tiger make it clear that Tollywood is very much the same as it was before and Baahubali is nothing more than an exception. Nothing has changed for tollywood and not much will.

Typical telugu movie with nepotist star and hero storyline

This is the biggest time waste picture I've seen.

illogical plot lack of story childhish and immature non sensical action scenes lack of character depth

Basically it seems the movie was made under the thesis that a bunch of fair skinned girls, a "hero", thousands of fight scenes and other foreign actors along with costly clothes in dance scenes lead to entertainment.

A pathetic orgy of disastrous scenes with subpar music. It was as if you gave a blank cheque to a child and said go make a movie kiddo !

Stone faced hero has no emotion or diction, his overconfidence is pompous'and a huge turn off, and he lacks screen presence unlike the 6 foot 2 Mahesh Babu.

Total self-goal scenes with build-ups, over-top dialogues and endless gun scenes.

I think Akhil Akkineni is the Balakrishna of TElugu film. Hope he stops trolling the telugu media and quits films because he is an utter gutter time waster.

The word "jua" mentioned in the tagline translates to "sun" in swahili language.
      • Alternate versions
The UK release was cut, the distributor chose to reduce scenes of strong violence (sight of blood spurts as characters are impaled on a tree branch and or punched or hit in the face with a shovel) in order to obtain a 12A classification. An uncut 15 classification was available.
