For Jarman fans only, which is fine....

This really isn't a film,, but a collection of footage Derek Jarman shot at a night club in London he used to frequent in the 1980's. You see various people of all ages, colors, gender, and orientations dancing. That's it. There's no narrative, and there's no structure to the footage at all. It's just people dancing filmed by Jarman himself. The footage is well shot, as Jarman often shot footage for his own films, so he was a good cameraman. There are some "Jarmanesque" shots in the film, so it's nice for us Jarman fans. Overall, a nice little addition to Jarman's filmography, but nothing spectacular.

    • Trivia
Filmed "on the spur of the moment" in 1984 by Derek Jarman on his brand new hand held consumer personal movie camera, which had been given to him as a gift. In the excitement of "I just want to film something," Jarman visited one of his favorite London gay clubs, and filmed the entire thing in essentially one "stream of consciousness" take.
