I noticed this the other day & after watching the trailer in which I didn't realize the detective was Tom Sizemore, I went & read a review & knew it was going to be a good movie. I was right. You have to understand those who usually leave reviews on here. They are young, have been completely dumbed down & can't stand anything that isn't a huge hollywood propaganda production. They like lot's of things going BOOM, lots of blood, gut's & sex, and do not want to have to use their brain which has never been used before. Is this a fast-paced, action-packed, shoot'em-up movie? No, not at all. Is it better than the majority of what hollywood produces today? Definitely. I loved Tom Sizemore. He was one of my favorite actors since I started watching him back in the 90's. This was definitely not his usual role, but he was perfect for it. I even found myself a little spooked out at times, and got the chills a few times. I'm a little confused as to how no one could understand it, or keep up with it, but that just goes to show you exactly what I said about today's society is true. If you don't mind thinking, or don't need a huge mind-numbing hollywood production to enjoy a movie then you'll definitely want to check this out. Especially if you like Sizemore.

The idea was not new, but was decent. Some of the acting was good, most was painful. RIP Tom Sizemore, but darn, he did a terrible job. The story line was so convoluted because it didn't know whether it wanted to be a horror movie, a folk tale, or a drama. This desperately needed a better director to help it choose its genre, and it needed a better editor to cut it way down. I actually fast forwarded through many scenes just so I could get through it. It gets 4 stars because I was actually interested enough to see it through to the end, albeit by skipping a few scenes here and there. If you have nothing else to do one night, you could watch it, but be prepared to be patient and fast forward here and there!

Theres a good story and horror concept in here somewhere. Unfortunately, it is lost in the poor writing, excessive dialogue and excessive scene lengths.

The screenplay is weak. I actually felt like Tom Sizemore was ad libbing his lines, and improvising off the other characters.

I respect Tom Sizemore, but he's just not together in this film. His lines are not clear or appropriate for the situation and he repeats himself.

This film is shot beautifully, but there are too many scenes, and the film could have been edited by 30 minutes.

I watched it over two nights because it took so long to develop.

It would have been a really good 90- minute horror film with less dialogue and quicker pace.

I salute the concept.

This film was a jumble of ideas with a terrible script, honestly there wasn't one part of it that made sense, was well acted, or was well-scripted. Way too long. I was on the edge of turning it off but stuck it out until the end so I could say I gave it a fair chance. It didn't deserve it. Nobody wants a shocker to succeed more than I. I will need a lot to erase the memory of this road-accident of a film. Not even worth trying.

The premise was good, a detective lured to an insane asylum in Pennsylvania ostensibly to meet a dying patient who wants to confess something to him. Unfortunately the script meandered from that decent premise to mix various horror genres without succeeding in any. I guess it's closest to a Sentinel or Exorcist-type horror, without the logic or intelligence of either of those movies.
