A Deadpool & Wolverine reunion is on the horizon as its top actors and creators will collaborate on another film. Co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are set to join forces with director Shawn Levy for an upcoming mystery project.

Speaking with Variety, Reynolds confirmed he's working on an undisclosed, non-Marvel movie with Jackman and Levy. Im spending the year writing, Reynolds said. Im writing a movie for myself, Hugh [Jackman] and Shawn [Levy] to do that is not Marvel. Reynolds kept plot details about the project under wraps but will work on it with Jackman and Levy over the next year. It's unknown if the project is in active development at a studio.

Let us look back at the history of Russian propaganda films. The standard-bearer must be Sergei Eisenstein’s 1938 “Alexander Nevsky,” a Stalinist-era epic centered on the hero Prince Alexander, who drove out the Romans in the 13th century. The barely-veiled subtext of that film, however, was a depiction of Russo-German relations as the war loomed ahead, with a call to arms for citizens and a clear warning to would-be attackers. I’ve no idea how effective it was at reaching its propagandistic goals, but the film itself is gorgeous and filled with inventive effects, and Eisenstein accomplished at least the feat of cinematic excellence.

Flash forward to 2018, and the quality of Russian propaganda films has fallen dramatically. Case in point: “Maximum Impact,” a joint Russian-American action comedy about a top-secret summit meeting between the American secretary of state and Russian head of state, with the goal of shoring up relations between the two countries.

Unified Pictures has acquired North American rights to the action/comedy film “Maximum Impact”, starring international action star Alexander Nevsky (“Showdown in Manila”). Written by Ross Lamanna (“Rush Hour”) and directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak (“Romeo Must Die”), the cast includes Kelly Hu (“The Scorpion King”), William Baldwin (“The Purge: TV series”), Tom Arnold (“True Lies”), Mark Dacascos (“John Wick 3: Parabellum”) and Danny Trejo (“Machete”).
