This is a really thoughtful film with some genuinely touching moments and relatable characters and situations, and you'll grow to like all 5 of the characters... especially Normandy. Definitely worth checking out if you get the chance!
Lots of good reviews here. However couldnt really recommend. The adult actors let it down, script and direction were stilted or unrealistic. The background music often didnt really work. However it was a worthwhile attempt -and did pretty well for the low budget.
This film was funny, original, and nice opportunity for local artists to put something out there. Clearly not Hollywood budget, the film suffers from pitfalls that many indie films do... But it's still a worthy project. What you lack in funding and expertise is heart and originality. At times the script gets a bit slow, but I did get multiple laughs from these characters.
I'm not the best audience for a teen comedy, so read the review with this in mind. This film starts with a great idea, very much a concern in many households today, the total attention to electronics to the exclusion of everything else. Parents impose a 30 day moratorium on their 5 teens...no internet, no phones, etc. This could be a nice family film that might make youngsters think about relying more on personal interaction, tho some of the language might need to be adjusted for the younger crowd. Nehemiah Deason did a nice job as Bentley. The dialogue, exposition and scenes could use trimming with instead more visual communication between the actors. Less is more.
This film has a Nickelodeon or After School Special vibe and concerns four teens undergoing digital withdrawal when their parents remove social media from their lives. They learn the value of meaningful relationships through actual interaction and develop strong friendships. It's competently shot and edited possessing a light tone.
