A Royal Family Holiday

The Royal family...yes their last name is Royal...converge on the homestead in order to get their family back together. Mom and Dad are separated and they're hoping some Christmas magic will set it all right

Well, we have a few twists and turns as is custom with family movies, so let's get to it.

Solange (not the character name) is dealing with a boss that has eyes for her

Republican is dealing with a Congressional Campaign and wants to make himself over as a Family Man. He plans to propose to the love of his life...except there's something in the way

Vivica Fox is having some fun with MacDaddy Royal and while Mac is a stereotypical bachelor, he does come off as likeable enough to root for him

Guru played by Romeo is an interesting character that seems to be very connected with his spirit and I like the character a lot

Minister Royal is trying to put together a salon and church and Tichina Arnold plays a part in her story.

All in all, I didn't expect a masterpiece but I did enjoy a charming film that did make me go "what?" a few times. That said, I loved that the family dynamic. I felt like they spent time off camera hanging out in character to play well off of each other.

This is one of the worst Holiday films I've ever seen.

Royal Family Christmas (2015) is a holiday gem that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a family that is sick of how hard it is to get the family together for the holidays. They decide to fake a divorce to trick everyone to get together for a last family holiday. As the parents go through the process, they deal with the family's inner struggles and may find their plan backfires.

This movie is directed by Lance Kawas (Paid in Full) and stars Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill), Tichina Arnold (Martin), Richard Lawson (Poltergeist), Romeo Miller (Honey) and Ricky Harris (Heat).

The storyline is unique and has dynamic characters. The divorce plot is as awful as it sounds; and was painful to watch executed at times, but the storyline improves as the family dynamic unfolds. Fox and Harris play off each other perfectly and they were hilarious the entire film. The acting and dialogue was really solid and there's some good laughs baked in here. Romeo was a funny and dynamic character. He delivered a solid performance and the conclusion felt realistic.

Overall, this isn't a holiday classic, but it is worth a viewing. I would score this a strong 7/10 and recommend it once.
