Darkwave: Edge of the Storm

Very nicely composed science fiction short just waiting to be continued. This production is slick, well paced, professionally produced and well acted with reasonable quality SFX making for a pacey thriller.

I hope this quality piece moves forward given that like an increasing number of these shorts the quality is truly astonishing given this is not a 'mainstream' production.

With the advent of increasingly powerful yet affordable computer technology it is very easy to fall into the trap of allowing SFX to overwhelm a production reducing the product to fancy flashy effects with little or indeed no real story value - this seems to not fall into that easy trap.

Nicely done.

It could be used as a long teaser/trailer for a full-length movie. I want to see more. This would totally work as a serial in the theme of old radio series where you turn in next time to continue the story and find out what happened to the characters. The video does leave a lot of questions which it seems to be taken for granted the audience already knows the answers to (unless they were thinking of introducing the backstory through flashbacks of some sort. I thought the special effects were pretty well done. Acting is not terrible and the visual quality is very good. The level of special effects reminded me of early Battlestar Gallactica.
