    How to sink a show

Probably the show had run its course somewhere in the middle of Season 7. Some of the episodes, like all but the last two, were simply fantasy based. I expedited to see Richard Castle dawn a super hero costume to keep his identity a secret. Well, almost no television show out of Hollowwood that is a big hit keeps their writers around after the fourth season. We all learned that truth when Fonzi tried to ski-jump a pool of vicious mandating sharks. The skilled and creative writers that manage to hook viewers fail to maintain. So is the case for season 5-7 on Castle. Episodes 22& 23 of S7 offered some hope of returning to police procedural shows with Castle creative additions. Not to be sadly. The first two S8 shows XY & XX while interesting just can't be justified when Beckett does what she does at the end. She has become almost a pathetic character who has no idea of what truly matters.

    Absolutely ridiculous

These first two episodes of season 8 were absolutely ridiculous. I'm so glad that they decided to cancel the show. Such a shame. I liked the first six seasons a lot and even seven was good. But after these two first episodes, omg, what a soap opera. What happened to the writers? Kate Beckett is ridiculous. Everything that happened is ridiculous. I thought it couldn't get more ridiculous after the explanation of Castle's two month disappearance, but boy, was I wrong. I'll try to finish it, I'm really curious what they'll come up with. Why do the writers have to make anything in a soap opera? Just cancel the show faster.

    • Trivia
While this and its predecessor, "XY (2015)", are technically two episodes, they're also two sides of the same story. "XX" is the chromosome pair in women, thus why it's told from Beckett's point of view.
    • Goofs
When Kate is undressing so that she can sew up the wound on her stomach, the scar on her chest from being shot with a high power rifle at the end of season 3 is missing.
    • Quotes

Richard Castle: You know, before Bracken was killed, he told me you'd never be happy just being my wife. Please do not tell me that son of a bitch knew you better than I do.
