Everybody knows about the Garfield. The lazy, lasagna loving cat. He would be very sweet cat if you compare him with Kötü Kedi Şerafettin (bad cat şerafettin). He loves drinking rakı (a Turkish alcohol), barbecue, smoking, hitting on other cats on his reign with his famous sentence "do you wanna make up?". He is a caricature character created by Bülent Üstün in 1996.
So now you know about this anti-hero cat lets talk about the movie itself. The script is made of adding up the older famous caricature stories and it can be easily said that şero (şerafettin) kept his origins. There are lots of laugh moments through out the movie and sometimes you just cant stop laughing. Bad language is used which was necessary because of the origin.
The animation was amazing when you think about this movie is one of the first Turkish animation movie. It is world standard from a crew with not that much experience. Istanbul they created is so amazing, you feel like you are in it and only this reason is enough for watching this movie. Apart from the setting characters kept their origin successfully. You can feel the evilness from just a look of Şero.
The only thing that i don't like about this movie is the endless story of the villain itself which repeats so many times that it gets boring in the end.
If you are a fan of Şero or animation movies this is a must for you. Even you don't like this genre this movie can make you smile. Production of this movie was 10 years long and in my opinion all that work created a amazing movie.

First off, I never expected a Turkish animation could be this good -- how I was wrong. The animation is so great I can't help not to write a review; something I don't usually bother doing. The level of details put into every scene is stunning, the character motions, the physics of things, the visual effects and everything that a good 3d movie should tend to was done close to perfection. As far as the animation goes, this movie is a real winner. But now here comes the unfortunate part: the story. From the beginning, I felt nothing is so engaging about the story. I was honestly bored and could have left the movie after 15 minutes if it wasn't for the animation. I watched the English-dubbed version, so maybe something is lost in translation. There isn't much to enjoy from the dialogs througout the duration, some were crude, some were cheesy and none is entertaining. But again, this is the dubbed version I was watching. if only I could understand the movie in its original language, probably I could have enjoyed it more. However kudos to the team behind this animaton work.
Animals as we see in the Hollywood movies, presented human-like nowadays. Why isn't there any realistic "animation"? Animals ain't polite or save the world for a week. They mind their own business. Like the Bad Cat minds its own fish and booze. A definite thing about this movie is its diversity. There is an assumption that animals talk, this is animational constant. But their speech differs in this movie. It's fun to see cats swearing and yelling in the city. They're not bound to humans. Especially cats, as they domesticated spontaneously, because of mutual needs with men, shouldn't be presented as dependent toys. They'd always find a way through. This movie is about finding way for fun. Have fun.
I was ready to toss this into the delete pile in 5 min after I started. That's all I was going to give It. I thought It was surely going to be another pile of crap 3D animation cash grab. I'm still watching and almost done. Profanity, death, gore, sexual innuendo, alcoholism, theft, drunken driving... the list goes on and on. It's actually amusing at times. I'm surprised frankly. This Is no stinking kids movie. It's adult oriented through and through. Well animated as well.
Bulent Ustun's "Kotu Kedi Serafettin" (Bad Cat Serafettin) was a famous monthly comics of the 1990's. Depicted as a stray cat, living in a traditional neighborhood in metropolitan Istanbul, Serafettin, aka "Sero", was a badass, foul-mouthed, villain, sexist, yet a naive and a funny character. In his adventures, he followed is own (macho) ethics. Bulent Ustun's awesome drawings turned adventures of Serafettin to a film-noir like cartoon. Unfortunately, this animation lacks the harshness, and new ideas of Bulent Ustun's drawings and wit. It merely repeats the well-known storylines of former comics.
If you are looking for a children's comics, or maybe an anime, you are in the wrong place. However, miss Kotu Kedi Serafettin, this movie presents a decent animation of Bulent Ustun's famous cartoon.
