Dark Iris

Here we have a film created, produced, written, directed, edited and cast by novice Derek Talib. As you can imagine, when a seasoned film-maker takes on all these roles, the film is usually a fail as it's too much ambition to wear that many hats. In this case, when an inexperienced novice actor wears that many hats, then you know it's going to be a mess, and a mess it was. Not sure if the budget was a few thousand dollars, but this was very low budget - almost like a high school drama project. The SFX was outdated, the acting was stale and poor and lacked direction, the writing was very loose and had pacing issues. I'm guessing this film was made just to add credits to Derek Talib's resume. Too bad they don't give credits for fake reviews as well, because Derock-29340's 9/10 (Derek=Derock lol) would have garnered him another bonus point for his resume. It's pathetic when you have to write your own review to try and fool viewers. It's a generous 2/10 from me.

The story begins from a special experiment. I saw this movie very interesting. It was a story about a female lead, and action scenes often made me happy. It even felt like a spy action movie. Action and reversal were in the right balance. I want to recommend it to other users.

...that doesn't hit its mark. Sadly the story has been done before. It was decent for the small budget but you have to rate it against other mainstream films.

Very low budget movie. Lots of violence and gore, sexual situations and lots of confusion as the FBI tries to make heads or tails of a strange amount of killings around a young barista named iris. Had a lot of wasted potential here and could have been far more interesting if it was written better. Too many obvious clues are overlooked and many dumb choices are made. Nothing questionable, no full nudity, not a lot of foul language. Nothing special and very slow building plot. Actresses are cute but not very good at acting. Kind of all over the place and didn't keep me interested much at all. Watch at your own risk or if nothing else to do.

I had high hopes- not sure why. As others have said, I would agree that acting, sfx and direction are pretty average. Not the worst I've seen either, but it could have been more
