You really have to lower your standards when watching these found footage movies so I don't expect much. This movie is no different than most of the others I've seen on Tubi except a little worse. Beside the obvious, the thing that makes this particular movie almost unbearable to watch at times is the main characters whining and crying throughout the movie. I assume hes trying to sell his fear and being scared by over acting. Something youre not surprised by in a low budget movie with low budget actors. Overall, not the worsed FF movie I've ever seen but definitely not recommended unless you're a devoted fan of the genre.
THE COFFIN FOOTAGE has nothing to do with coffins but refers to writer/director/lead actor Trent Coffin's name. Like many other found footage films, this one uses the device of the film-maker playing a semi-fictional version of themselves.
The basic conceit of the movie, which only becomes apparent during the last 5 minutes or so, is clever. Unfortunately, the journey to get there makes it ultimately not worthwhile: the production values are home-movie level, the acting is not great, all characters beside the main one are just plot devices, events have a ring of implausibility, and so on.
One thing that eventually becomes quite annoying is the excessive whininess of the main character. Now, in the last 5 minutes it becomes clear that this actually serves a purpose in the plot, but I think the same point could have been made without hitting the audience over the head with it.
Maybe if the script had been rewritten a few times and more had been put into the execution something could have been done with the basic idea, but as is, this movie cannot be recommended. However, the title/end music is pretty cool.

Not that bad but just him screaming and nothing truly scaring happening. Who the hell write Halloween as a keyword? twenty minutes until the end I did not saw anything about Halloween.
I like even love some handheld camera and found footage but this is between the worst of the subgenre.

For a 20 something year old college graduate, this boy cries and screams more than a little girl getting teased on the playground. The explanation for why the ghost or spirit is after him is interesting, but it's hard to get around all his crying and freaking out. Man the f up boy!
I just don't get it, what's up with this crazy low score? I've watched a lot of unbelievably bad movies, Amityville Mt. Misery Road, hello. The Coffin Footage is no where near the horrid mess that that film (and i use the term loosely) is. No, instead with an obviously limited budget, The Coffin Footage has managed to create a very cool film (one that actually makes sense for a change) that comes together with a nifty little twist at the end. It deserves some love, people!! So give The Coffin Footage a watch. I liked it :)
