Grandmother's Farm Part 2 Its first step to enter many Emirates movies to the box office, its some strong works by Emirates filmmakers such as City of life, Sea Shadow, Djinn's, The Circle and From A to B, Grandmother's Farm is the first emirate and gulf movie by 2 parts in cinemas,we are proud of this team who work hard to produce this movie. Directed by Ahmed Zein was keen to strive and work as a team for this production is wonderful, and the honor of the company Dubai Gulf film production and acquisition expertise, that the right pride to all of us,I would like to thank all the staff, and the future for the UAE, and the film audience will support all movies,

Watched this and the first movie thinking 'why not? There's an amazing movie culture in Iran, perhaps in the Emirates there are some unknown gems?'

Maybe there are. This isn't one of them though.

While there is no doubt the idea of a djinn being the antagonist of a story is fine, that story would be better told in the hands of a competent writer and director.

Sadly there is nothing to recommend here. The comedy isn't funny. The horror isn't scary. the direction and camerawork is patchy. It's not even bad in an entertaining way. The majority of the 'story' isn't relevant to the djinn theme at all. It's hard to gauge what the idea behind it all is. It feels like a number of 'comedy' sketches designed to make fun of obese people and little else.

I trust that Emiraties have better taste to taste this at all. I'm certain this does not represent their movie culture. I look forward to seeing better in the future.

Why did my mother gave birth to me? why did I live to this moment? If I was not born I wouldn't watch this movie... I hate you mom!!!!

The first film "Grandmother's Farm" felt to me very odd. As of writing, my review is the only one for it on IMDB so it's easy to find. It was a comedy-horror that seemed to forget the horror aspect until more than half-way through.

Grandmother's Farm 2 seems to have realized this, whether intentionally or not, and displays a much greater understanding of horror. Unfortunately, it missed the opportunity to do so in the first film, and so it feels a whole lot like it's playing catchup with itself instead, all the while the main cast is out fishing.

This is literally the case; the main cast from the first film has left Grandmother's farm to go out fishing, leaving Grandmother to deal with her servant guy going insane being haunted by a Djinn and a possessed woman who one of the guys invited over in the first film and apparently she never left.

The Djinn sequences are properly creepy and fun, and are almost completely detached from the main cast going off fishing sequences. It all comes together at the very end in a very clumsy way that feels like it was not fully thought through and possibly done at the last moment.

This film is a lot more coherent and clear than the first film, and feels that if you cut out the fishing trip and edited the first film and this one together the right way, it would have made for one effective enough horror film.
