Previously, Ravi Bhagchandka’s Sachin: A Billion Dreams movie brought Sachin Tendulkar’s inspiring journey to life on screen. He is currently developing a biopic on Yuvraj Singh alongside Sitaare Zameen Par.

“West Side Story” actor Ansel Elgort is set to star in “Faster Than Horses,” a survival thriller directed by Emmy nominee James Erskine (“Shooting for Socrates “) and produced by survival expert Bear Grylls.

Inspired by a true story and based on an article by Hampton Sides, “Faster Than Horses” follows a former Olympic runner who attempts a return to glory in the world’s toughest footrace, the Marathon des Sables, a series of back-to-back marathons across the Sahara Desert. But when a devastating sandstorm engulfs the race, he finds himself lost in the Sahara Desert, locked in a 10-day battle not for victory, but for survival.

The film is currently in pre-production and will be unveiled to international distributors at the AFM which kicks on Nov. 5 in Las Vegas. Upgrade will handle international sales, with CAA Media Finance repping North American rights.

Directed by award-winning documentarian James Erskine, the documentary covers the bombing of Japan at the end of World War II, using never-before-seen archival footage and color film from the immediate aftermath of the bomb, as well as audio testimony from victims.

The documentary special will premiere on Hulu Japan and History in the U.S. on Sunday, Aug. 2, and later on History Japan on Aug. 30. When it airs on History Channel in the U.S., the doc will be titled simply “Hiroshima: 75 Years Later.”

The movie made by Ravi Bhagchandka was the first of sorts sports movie???given that it had no frills of a typical Hindi potboiler. And that, we hear was one of the conditions on which the Master Blaster agreed to allow the movie to be produced. Apparently, the?producer ?chased Sachin for a good 8 months till the Master Blaster finally gave him the go-ahead.
